and City Attorney to confer with Pioneer Irrigation Ditch Comnany about taking over
water inside of the City limits.

Council met with Diayor ASilinr presiding. Present, Bollman, Kimbrough, Mumford,
Oakes, Rowland, and Westcott.
The Huree and American Theaters presented a petition to 'the City Council as1ring
to permit Theaters and Motion Picture Shows to remain open on Sundays, and requested
the City Collriil to pass an Ordinance to that effect.
Motion by Oakes sec ^nded by Rowland that the petition be placed on file and a
Committee of three be appointed to investigate legal precedinge of same.
Ayes; Bollman, Kimbrough, Liumford, Oakes, Rowland and Westoott.
Noyes, done.
Mayor appointed Kimbrough, and Westcott.
h. J. Magee presented a petition asking permission to change ditch situated in
block 27, Dormans addition in the City of Caldwell. Matter reffored to chairman of
Irrigation Committee.
City Attorney reported on conference of South Idaho Electric Lights and Power
Users Association.
Motion by Westcott seoonde -1 by D.iumford matter be placed on the table until next meeting.

Committee on salary and combinations recommended the following changes.
gelpers of Water Superintendent salaries be fixed at 6 0100.00. Three helpers of
Fire Chief be fixed at 9100.00. Sextons salary be fixed at 4100.00, helper payed 40 cents
per hour. Street Superintendents salary be fixed at Al25.00. Two truck men and two
horse meny salary be fixed at t , 100.00.
Reoommended that the City Physician be abolished. Recommended that the Building
Inspector be combined with the City Engineer.
Motion be Oakes seconded by Rowland resolutions concerning Purchasing Agent be
adopted.

Treasurers books from last audit.'
Motion by Westcott seconded by Oakes that Committee be appointed with power to act at
once.

Mayor be confirmed.

MoConnel reported on advisability of r_haneinp the drain for the water tank and for
irrigation system so that the drainnee would not come over the brow of the hill.
Mayor appointed Bollman, Kimbrough, and City Clark to narfoct plans.for City Water
Rentals.
Motion by Oakes seconded by Rumford that committee of three be appointed to work
out plans of parking in the down town district.
Mayor appointed committee of 'Uastoott, Bollman, and Oakes.
Motion by Oakes, seconded by Bollman that the Connoil adjourn until next
regular meating June 6, 1921.

WTMREAS, the members of tba City lonne11, of the City of Caldwel•, have examined the
condition of the crosninF of the Oregon Short line Railroad track, on Bain Street, be-
tween 3rd, and 4th, Avenues, and on Fth, Avenue and 8th or ;rimbell Avenue, end have found
th conditions of said crossings to be dangerous, both on account of the crossings
over the rails of the different tracks to be below the grade of the Street and pavement,
and also on account of the material used in said crossings, aid the condition of said
material.
PTOW. THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell,
that the said above mentioned crossings as the same are now matained and operated by
the Oregon Short Line Railroad Company, are hereby determined to be and the same are
now a public nuisance, and that the said Oregon Short Line 3ailroad Company is hereby
required to repair said crossings in conformity with the balance of the payements and
grades on said Streets,
And, that the said Corporation be forthwith notified of this action of the
City Council.
