There being no further business to come before the Council, it was moved by Councilman Smith,
seconded by Councilman Luby that the meeting recess until May 20, 1963 in the Council Chambers at 0:00 P.M.
A vote was taken and the motion unanimously carried.
The meeting recessed at 10:10 P. M.

The Council met pursuant to call and acknowledgement of notice in the following form:
We, the undersigned Acting Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho,
( do each hereby acknowledge notice of a Special Meeting of the said City Council, to be held in the Council
Chambers in the City Hall in the City of Caldwell, Idaho, at the hour of 5:00 P. NL, on the 13th day of
May, 1963 for the transaction of all business in connection with the following object: Opening of Rids for
Construction work in Local Improvement District No. 54.

Upon Roll Call, the following Councilmen answered present: E. L. Vassar, Ani.le Shorb, Max Luby
and C. A. Davenport. Absent: V. Jay Martin who was out of torn and N. E. "Coley" Smith.
This was the time set for opening of bids for Construction work on Local Improvement District No.
54 and although a quorum was not present, Acting Mayor Vassar directed that those bids received be opened as
scheduled.
Bids were opened and the unit price for each described item of the bid as well as the total bid
price of each bidder announced to the Council. The total bid prices were as follows:
C. L. Strang - 1172 So. Powerline - Nampa, Idaho . . . . . . . . . . $ 3,111.00
Specialty Construction Co. - P. 0. Box 1907 - Boise, Idaho . . . . . . . . . . 3,329.33
Watkins Construction Co. - Box 1786 - Boise, Idaho . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 3,215.68
Each Councilman present expressed their desire of awarding the bid to C. L. Strang of Nampa, Idaho,
the low bidder at $3,111.00 providing such action should be confirmed by Councilman N. E. "Coley" Smith.
Said action was approved by Councilman Smith on the following day.

Bids on Garbage Contract
Acting Mayor Vassar announced that the first order of business would be the opening of bids on the
,Garbage Contract for the ensueing five years whereupon City Engineer Mel Lewis inquired if there were any
bidders present who did not receive the addendum to the Specifications. There appearing to be none present,
those bids received were opened and found to be as follows:

In that the Council was desirous of giving each bid careful study and due to the marry ramification
of the bids, it was moved by Councilman Shorb, seconded by Councilman Smith that the bids be taken under
advisement for ten days or less. A vote was taken and the motion manimously carried.
