Bids were opened as follows: Causey, Yoster & Bo. $23,062.00 and accrued interest. Rollins & Sons, $23.039.10 and acrued interest. Sweet & Co. fire equipment bonds only, $10,083.50 and accrued interest. Farson, Son & Cd., no certified check. Union Trust &.Saving Bank, $22,450.00 and accrued interest. Sean & CO., $23,253,00 Voted, on motion of Zeh, that council go into executive session. Resolution as above adopted. Voted, on motion of Adam, that theother bide be rejected and their certified checks returned. Voted, on motion that the certified check of Causey, Foster & Co., in the of 01125, on the former issue of bonds. be returned. Voted, on igotion of Stunenberg, that the council ad#ourn until Monday, May 13th, 1912 at 8 P.M. f Monday evening: May 13, 1912. Council met in regular session pursuant to ad- journment with Mayor Griffiths, presiding, and Councilmen Adam, A3ama, Bardeley, Stunenberg, Walker, Zeh, present; Shorb Clerk. Claim of the U.S. Reelimation service in the sum of 443.75 for tiling, was on motion of Zeh allowet on the road fund. Voted, on motion of Walker, that the following notice be ordered published in the Blab for three consecutive issues. . . TO AUTO CHEMICAL ENGINE BUILDERS. Notice is hereby given that the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell wi receive sealed bide on Monday, June 17 1912, at 5 o'clock P.M. for a triple combine tion, high power auto pump, hose and chemical engine fully equipped with he necessar fire apraratus. The engine before acceptance must stand demonstration test and a bond must be entered into with the city in an anount sufficient to insure any guaran The Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids. By order of the city Council. C. J. Shorb, Clerk. Dated May 13, 1912. The reports of the Librarian for the months of March and April ward read, and, on motion of Walker, approved and ordered filed. Resolution No. 1, by Bardeley, entitled, "A resolution providing for the con struction of sidewalks according to Plan 3 of Ordinance No 148 of the City of Galdwe Idaho, along certain streets in front of certain lots in said city and providing for the payment of such construction by an assessment levied and assessed against the pr ty fronting or abutting on said sidewalk," was read. The roll being called on the resolution the vote resulted: Yeas: Adam, Adams, Bardlley, Stunenberg, Walker, Zeh. Voted, on irotion of Adams that the council adjourn until Monday, May 20, 1912„ at 8 o'clock. Monday evening, pray 20, 1912. Petitiion of Frank Purser et.a;, praying, that the city vacate certain streets and alleys in the Frost addition to the City of Caldwell was read and referred to the street committee. Bill No. 18, by Walker, entitled, "An Ordinance No 172 entitled, 'An ordinance fixing the fire limits in the City of Caldwell , Tdaho� and providing for the prevention of fire therein, providing for the erection and inspection of buildings therein, the appointment of a building inspector, specifying his duties and compensation, repeating all ordinances in conflict wits: this ordinance and providing a penalty for the viola- tion thereof,' passed by the City Council on the .13th day o° June 1910 and approved by the Mayor on the 14th day of June 1910, was read the first time. A motion was made by Adams that the rules be suspended and the readings on three separate days be dispensed with and that Bill No. 18 be read the second time by title and the third time in full and placed on its final passage, The roll being called on motion, the vote resultede Ayes, Ada,. Adams, Bardlley, Stunenberg, Zeh. Nays and Absent, None. so the motion prevailed. Bill No 18 read second time by title. Bill No. 18 read third time in full and placed on its final passage. On the ques- tion, Shall Bill No. 18 pass? the roll being called the vote resulted+ Ayes, Adarp, Adams, Bardaley, Stunenberg, Walker, ZeL. Nays and absent, None. so Bill No. 18 passed, becoming Ordinance No 213. Bill No 19, by Bardeley, entitled, "An Ordinance arnending Section 4, of Ordinance No 148, 'An Ordinance to regulate building of sidewalks and crossings in the City of Caldwell, Idaho and repealing ordinanve No 65 of said City, entitled, "An ordinance to regulate the building of sidewalks and crossings in the City of Caldwell," passed and ap- proved by the Mayor and Council of slid City on the 11th day of September 1905" which ordinance No 146 wass passed by the City Council on the 29th day of November 1909 and ap- proved by the Mayor on the 30th day of November 1909 ", was read the first time. A motion was made by Adam that the rules be suspended and the readings on three separate days be dispensed and that Bill No 19 be read the second time by title and the third time in full and placed on its final passage. The roll being called on the motion, the vote resultedi Ayes, Adam, Adams, Bardeley, Stunenberg, Walker, Zeh. Nays and absent None, so the motion prevailed. Bill No 19 read second time by title.
