Moved by Eggers, seconded by Burrell that this appointment he confirmed.
Upon Holl Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried.
The matter of advertising -Caldwell in Scenic Idaho Magazine was discussed but no action was

taken.
Bob Vorford, Ray Huston and W. W. Charity property owners in Local Improvement District # 71 were
-present and requested cancellation of Local Improvement District # 21 assessments charged against their
property stating they were connected mith a serrcr before this project was constructed,
The Acting Mayor appointed the -following committee to investigate this matter and report back to
the Council: Chairman, Councilman Eldredge, Cc+mcilman Weick, ^ -layer Smith, City Attorney and City Engineer.
A petition was presented to the ^dzvor and Council petitioning the opening of an alley through
Block 10, Lots 1 to 14 and Lots 15 to 20.
The Acting Mayor stated this alley had been vacated and right of way for alley world have to be
given by property owners.
Moved by V.eick, seconded *y Eldredge the City Attorney be authorized tc subscribe to the National
Institute of !Mnicipal Law Officers trodel Ordinance Service.

Fire Chief Paddock presented a Fire Commissioners badge to Councilman 'freick.

The City Attorney was directed to write a letter of appreciation to Mr. Parmenter for his years
of service to the City of Caldwell.
There b ei.ng no further business to come before the Council it was moved by Councilman Weick,
seconded by Councilman Burrell that Council adjourn. Motion carried.

Upon Roll Call the following councilmen answered present: Fran Blomquist, L. E. Burrell, Ernest
Weick, L. P. Eldredge and J. W. Bettis. Absents Adolph Eggers.
The Mayor informed the Council the meeting was called to consider a petition presented by Paul
Gibbon to construct aid operate a motel and restaurant on property in Block 30, Golden Gate Addition to
Caldwell, Idaho.
This petition was discussed by the Council.

Whereupon it was moved by Councilman Weick, seconded by Councilman Burrell that the Mayor be
authorized to sign the petition on behalf of the City of Caldwell.
Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried.
The Mayor stated a no -host luncheon was to be held at the Saratoga May 26, to meet with Mr. 3;. P. A
State Highway Engineer and discuss road problems.
Councilman Eldredge informed the Council the rat poisoning program was progressing satisfactorily.
There being no further business to come before the Council it was moved by Councilman Bettis,
seconded by Councilman Weick that Council adjourn. )lotion carried. �j /2
