Council Chamber, City of Caldwell, Idaho, May 3rd., 1915.
Council meet in regular session with Mayor Fred C. Boyes presiding, Councilmen
Orville R. Ackley, James A. Dement Jr.. James H. Forbes, Fred N. Harrington, Herbert H.
Hayman and Fred L. Lilly, present, S. Ben Dunlap, Clerk, when the following business
was transacteds
The Clerk reported that the following had filed their official oath of office;
Fred C. Boyce, Mayor, S. Ben Dunlap, City Clerk and Ex- officio Police Judge, Guy C.
Me Gee, City Engineer and James A. Dement Jr., Fred L. Lilly, James H. Forbes,
Herbert H. Hayman, Orville R. Ackley and Fred N. Harrington as Councilmen.
The bond of S. Ben Dunlap in the sum of $3,000.00 as City Clark and Ex- officio
Police Judge in the United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company was, on motion of
Ackley, approved and accepted.
It was voted, on motion of Hayman, that Council ad,jorn until Monday evening,
May 10th., 1915, at 7e30 o'clock.

Council meet in regular session pursuant to adjorament with Mayor F. C. Boyes,
presiding, Councilmen Ackley, Dement, Forbea, Harrington, Hayman and Lilly, present,
S. Ben Dunlap, Clerk, when the following business was transueteds
The Mayor announced the following committeeea
1 - Finance -- Hayman, Harrington
2 - Streets -- Forbea, Lilly
3 - Water Works--Forbes, Lilly
4 - Fire and Buildin

5 - Park -- Ackley, Dement
6 - Cemetery -- Hayman, Harrington.

It was voted upon motion of Ackley, that the appointments as a whole be confirm-
The Mayor then announced the following appuintmentse
1 - Chief of Police, John A. Baker
2 - Night Policeman, Dan Shuee
3 - Water Commissioner, Harry Smith
4 - Street Commissioner, D. D. Campbell

A motion was made by Harrington, seconded by Lilly, that the appointptents
as a whole be confirmed. The roll being called on the motion the vote resultede
Ayes - Ackley, Dement, Forbes, Harrington, Hayman and Lilly -6
Nayes and Absent - ?Tune.
The Mayor declared the appointment of John A. Baker. as Chief of Police,
Dan Shuse as Night Policeman, Harry Smith as .Rater Commissioner, D. D. Campbell as
Street Commissioner, T. A. Walters as City Attorney and John Rose as Sexton, confirmed.
The bond of Ethelwyn Fortner in the sum of $10,000.00 as City Treasurer in
the National Surety Company was, on motion of Ackley approved and accepted.
The Clerk announced that Ethelwyn Fortner had also filed her official oath
of office, as City Treasurer.
The quarterly report of the City Treasurer for the quarter ending April let.,
1915, was read. I't was voted on motion of Ackley that the report be approved.
The matter of bonds fur the City depoeitories was taken up and discussed,
members of the Council expressing themselves as being in favor of surety bonds. No
action was taken and upon motion of Forbes the matter was laid over until the next
regular meeting.
It was voted upon motion of Harrington that the hour of meeting be changed
to eight o'clock F'. M.
It was voted upon motion of Forbes that Hayman act as President of the
Council for the present term.
It was voted upon motion of Forbes that Council adjorn until Monday evening,
June 7th., 1915, at 8 o'clock P. M.

read and upon motion of Ackley were approved.
