regular session at the City Ball on Friday the 10th day of May, A. D. 1912, at 8
o'clo ^k P. M., pursuant to he rules of said Council. Upon roll call, the follow-
ing were presents Mayor Walter Griffiths; Councilmen, E. H Adam, C. Q. Adams,
John L. Bardeley, Hohn Stunenberg, T. R. Walker, and K. S. Zeh. Absent None.
Also Present, Cityplerk, C. J. Shorb.
Thereupon, motion was made by Councilman Adam and seconded by Councilman
Zeb, that the bid of Causey Foster & Co., of Denver, Colorado, for the ten thousan
dollars (tlo,000) Fire Apparatus bonds; the nine thousand dollars (09,000) Water
Works Bonds, and the Four Thousand dollars 04,000) street improvement bend of sia
eitp, being the best bid received, and not less than par and acrued interest, be
Accepted. Said motion was unanimously adopted by the following recorded vote.
Yeas Adam, Adams, Bardeley, Stunenberg, Walker, Zeb. Mayas none.
Thereupon, Councilmen Adam introduced the following resolution, which on
motion

RESOLUTIONS
WHEMS, pursuant to ordinance No. 212 entitled, "An ordinance submitting
at the qualified electors of the city of Caldwell, Idaho who are taxpayers thereof,

in the aggregate amount of 010,000 to provide for the equipment of a fire depart-
'ment; in the aggregate amount of $9,000. To provide for the construction and mainte:

adopted and approved March 27, 1912, a special bond election of he duly qualified
electors of t -he City of ealdwell, was held in said city on Wednesday, the 8th day
May, A. D. 1912, and
Whereas, all returns have been received by the City Council showing the rem
suits of said election, by which it appeared that a total of 180 ballots were cast
upon the firetiquestion submitted at such election; that 145 ballots were cast, where-
upon were placed the words "In favor of issuing bonds in the amount of Thn thousand
dollars ($10,000) to provide for he equipment of a fire department as stated in
Ordinance No. 212; that 35 ballots were cast, whereupon were cast whereupon were ple ee
the words "Against issuing bonds b he amount of tearthouaand dollars (10,000) to pro-
vide for the equipment of a fire department; by which it appears that a total of 17
ballots were cast upon the second question submitted at such election; that 154
ballots were cast, whereupon were placed the words "In favor of issuing bonds to the
amount of Nine thousand dollars ($9,000) to provide for he construction and main-
tenance of necessary water works ", as stated in Ordinance No 212; that 25 ballots
were cast whereon were placed the words "Against issuing bonds to he amount of Nine
thousand (09,000) to provide for the construction and maintenance of necessary Ovate
works" as stated in Ordinance No 212; and further by which it appears that a total

of 175 ballots were cast upon the third question submitted at said election;

that 140 ballots were cast whereon were placed the words "In favor of issuing bonds to
the amount of Four thousand dollars ($4,000) to. provide for the construction and lay-
ing out of streets" as stated in Ordinance No 212,.that.35 ballots' were cast whereon
were placed the words "Against issuing bonds to the.amotpnt of Four thousand dollars
4,000) to provide for the construction and laying out of streets V.as'.stated in Ordinance
No. 212.
Now, therefore, be it Resolved, that.the.following quiestionst
(1) Shall the Mayor and Common Council of he City of Caldwell, Issue the negotiable
coupon bonds of the city in the aggregate amount of�(410,000) to•previde for the equip-
ment of a fire departments
(2) Shall the Mayor and Common Council of he City of Caldwell, issue the negotiable
coupon bonds of the city in the aggregate amount of Nine thousand dollars (49,000) to
provide for the construction and maintenance of necessary water workso
(3) Shall the Mayor and Common Council of the -City of Caldwell, issue the negotiable
coupon bonds of the city in the aggregate amount of Four thousand dollars ($4,900) to
provide for the construction and laying out of streets;
Have been duly submitted to the qualified electors of the City of ealdwell, Idaho,
who, on .the.8th day of May, A. D. 1912. were tax payers thereof, for their determination
at a special bond election, duly called and legally held in said city on the 8th day of
May, A.D. 1912; that at said bond election, held as provided by law, two - thirds of the
qualified electors who were tax payers in said.city,,voting at said election assented to
the issuing of such bonds, and the insurring of be indebtedness - thereby created for the
purposes aforesaid.
Therefore, it is hereby declared that said election resulted in favor of authorizing
the Mayor and Council of said city to issue its municipal coupon bonds in the aggregate
amounts of Ten tbusand dollars ($10,000); Nine thousand dollars ($9,0:00) and Poor thousand
dollars ($4,000) to bear date May let, A.D. 1912, and to be in the form.and for the pur-
poses stated in said Ordinance No 212.
And be it further Resolved, that pursuant to said Ordinance No 212, the Mayor, the
city clerk and the city treasurer be, and they are hereby authorized and directed to
execute said bonds in the form and manner set forth in said Ordinance No 212; that when
said bonds are executed as aforesaid, they shall be delivered to Causey, Foster & Co.,
of Denver Colorado, the purchasers, thereof, in accordance, with the terms of the con-
tract of purchase existing between the City of Caldwell and the Causey, Foster & Co.,
upon the payment to he city treasurer of the proceeds of said bonds.

Voted, on motion of Zah, that council go into executive session.
Resolution as above adopted.
Voted, on motion of Adam, that theotber bide be rejected and their certified
checks returned.
Voted, on motion that the certified check of Cauaey, Foster & Co., in the
of 01126, on the former issue of boads, be returned.
Voted, on.1potion of Stunenberg, that the council ad4ourn until Monday, May
13th, 1912 at 8 P.M.
Monday evening: May 13, 1912. Council met in regular session pursuant to ad-
journment with Mayor Griffiths, presiding, and Councilmen Adam, Adams, Bardeley,
Stunenberg, Walker, Zeh, present; Shorb Clerk.
Claim of the U.S. Reclimation service in the sum of $43.75 for tiling, wag on
motion of Zeh allowed on the road fund.
Voted, on motion of Walker, that the following notice be ordered published ir.

TO AUTO CEMICAL ENGINE BUILDERS.
Notice is hereby given that the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell w
receive sealed bide on Monday, June l7, 1912 at 5 o'clock P.M. for a triple combin
Lion, high power auto pump, boss and chemical engine fully equipped with he necessa
fire apraratus. The engine before acceptance must stand demonstration test and a
bond must be entered into with the city in an anount sufficient to insure anp guars.
The Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

The reports of the Librarian for the months of March and April word read,
and, on motion of Walker, approved and ordered filed.
Resolution No. 1, by Bardsley, entitled, "A resolution providing for the con
struction of sidewalks according to Plan 3 of Ordinance No 148 of the City of Caldwe
Idaho, along certain streets in front of certain lots in said city and providing for
the payment of such construction by an assessment levied and assessed against the pr
ty fronting or abutting on said sidewalk," was read.
The roll being called on the resolution the vote resulted:
