COUNCIL CHAETB -RS, MAY 9th., 1938, 8:00 P. M. Pursuant to adjourment of the Regular Monthly Meeting held on May 2nd., 1938, the Council met in the Council Room with the Mayor, W, Fi, Hollingsworth, presiding. On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present: Edgar L. Oakes, F. £J, Mumford, W, S. Boynton, W. E. Babcock, G. M. Fenrich and Norvil T. Rinds. Rev. Rohn appeared and aske4armission to erect a temporary tabernacle, Moved by Oakes, seconded by Babcock that a committee be appointed with power to a at. Motion carried. The Mayor appointed the City Attorney, City Engineer and eouncilmer Oakes, Babcock and Fenrich. The Mayor appointed the following committee to work out a plan to clean up the lots at the City Barns Councilmen Babcock, Oakes and Hipds. The Mayor appointed MS. R.H. DAVENPORT MRS".MTRY L, VASSAR on the LIBRARY BOARD, Moved by Babcock, seconded by Fenrich that these appointments be confirmed, Motion carried. The Clerk read letter f rom the City Treasurer, R. E. Fnrmanter as follows: lcisy '.9, 1938. To the Honorable Mayor and City Council, Caldwell, Idaho. Dear Sirs: I hereby a sk for authority to transfer from those funds that have a surplus and unexpended balance, into the General Fund so that registered warrants may be called and redeemed, as per Sec, 1716 Chapter 49 Idaho Code Annotated 1932. Yours truly, H. E. Parmenter, City Treasurer. Thereup the following Preamble .nd Resolution was presented to the Mayor and Council by Councilman Hinds, Who moved the adoption thereof, which motion was duly seconded by Councilman Oakes. REBOLOTION By Hinds. %TMEAS, the following mentioned funds of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, have a surplus and unexpended balance in the following amounts to -wit; I TOTAL GOLF COURSE FUND 263.68 WATERWORKS DEPRECIATION FUND 4067 Waterworks Equipment Co., Supplies 482.19 4068 Rensselaer Valve Co., ° 171.14 2069 Idaho Hardware & Plg. A Yea and Nay vote was had thereon with the following result: Yea: Oakes, Mumford, Boynton, Fenrich, Hinds and Babcock Nay: None. Absent and not noting: None. Thereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried and the preamble and resolution duly adopted. Thereupon Councilms n Fenrich, introduced Bill No, 1, proppsed Ordinance #551, by Fenrich, entitled: AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE DISPLAY, PURCHASE, SALE AND STORAGE OF F1`RE- CRACKERS, AND FIREWORKS WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF CALD'f PRO- VIDING FOR A PERMIT FOR THE STORAGE OF FIREWORKS, REGULATING THE AMOUNT, PLACE AND MANNER OF STORAGE AND OF EXFIBITING FIRECRACKERS AND FIREWORKS FOR SALE TUTHIN TEE CITY OF CALDIELL, P.EG(TLATING THE TIME AND CONDITIONS WITHIN AND MgDER WHICH FIRECRACKERS AND FIREWORKS MAYBE USED OR EXPLODED„ REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PAPTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT H- REWITH AND PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF, which was read for the first time and the Council proceeded to a consideration of Bill No, 1. Moved by Boynton seconded by Mumford, that Council adjourn. Motion carried. M% � %m. City Clerk. COUNCIL CHA2JBERS, MAY 20th., 1938, 9:00 A.M. The Council met on Call of the Mayor, with the Mayor W. R. "Hollingsworth presidir. On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present: Edgar L. Oakes, F. D. Mumford, W. S. Boynton, G. M. Fenrich, W. E. Babcock and Norvil T. Hinds. A bid for auditing from Byron Defenbach & Sons was opened and read. Moved by Oakes, s ec , )nded by Mumford that this bid be accepted. Motion carried. Moved by Hinds, seconded by Fenrich that the Building Inspector be authorized to issue a special permit to Mrs. Perry to build a residence in "B" Residential Zone. Motion carried. The Mayor appointed the Street Committee, City.Engineer and Councilman Mumford as a committee of work out a plan for numbering of residences and naming of streets. This being the times et for the second reading of Bill No 1. Proposed Ordinance No. 551 it was moved by Fenrich, seconded b Mumford teat the Rules requiring the reading of an Ordinance on threes eparate days be suspended and that Proposed Ordinance No. 551, be read the second time by title and the third time in full, section by section, and placed or Its final passage. The Mayor directed the Clerk to call the Roll on the motion with the following results; Those voting in favor of the motion were= Oakes, Mumford,Boynton, Fenrich, Babcock and Rinds.
