Those voting in favor were Sandmeyer, Keister, Johnson, Dickens, Vaseer and bales. Those
opposed None.
The Mayor appointed T. D. Finn as Superintendent of rarks. Moved by Sales and
seconded by Vassar that the Mayor's appointment be confirmed. The Clark Belled the roll
those voting in favor were Sandmeyer, Keister, Johnson, Dickens, Vassar and Bales. Those
opposed none.
The Mayor appointed John ROBB as sexton of the Cemetery. Moved by Vassar and sec-
onded by Dickens that the Mayor's appointment be confirmed. The Clark called the roll.
Those voting in favor were Sandmeyer, Keister, Johnson, Dickens, Vassar and "Bales. Those
opposed none.
The Mayor appointed J. Fred Rowland as Chief of Police. Moved by Sandmeyer and sec-
onded by Johnson that the Mayor's appointment be confirmed. The Clerk called the roll.
Those voting in favor were Sandmeyer, Johnson, Dickens and Bales. Those voting No. were
Keister end Vassar.
The Mayor appointed Charles Jarvis as City Police and Motorcycle Control. Moved
by Bales and seconded by Dickens that the Mayor's appointment be confirmed. The Clerk
called the roll. Those voting in favor were Sandmeyer, Johnson, Dickens, Vassar and Bales
Those voting No. was Keister.
The Mayor declared the following appointed and elected;
STE'UART MAXEY AS CITY ATTORNEY.
LAWRENCE PORTER AS CITY ENGINEER.
DOYLE FENDER AS FIRE CHIEF.
T. D. FINN AS SUPERINTENDENT OF PARKS.
JOHN ROSS AS SEXTON OF CEMETERY.
J. FRED ROWLAND AS CHIEF OF POLICE.
CHARLES JARVIS AS POLICE AND MOTORCYOLE CONTROL.
Dickens presented the objection of Goo. L. Crockham that a culvert was broken across
Painter Street so that water vould not flow through properly.
Dickens and Porter agreed to look into the matter.
Moved by Dickens and seconded by bales that this Council now adjourn until 7:30
P. M. May 7, 1931 Motion Carried.

The Council met in persuant to adjournment of May 5th. 1931, with Mayor Fred L. Lill
presiding.
Bell of Councilmen was called and the following answered present: M. S. Sandmeyer,
Art Keister. Emery Bales, Joe Diokons, Carl Johnson, and Emery Vassar. Adeent None,
The Clerk read a Proclamation by the Mayor, asking that the Citizens of Caldwell
observe the week of may l7th. as Clean up v1sek.
On motion by Sandmeyer and seconded by Dickens, it was moved and carried that the
week of May 17th. should be Bet aside as Clean up Week. The Mayor so ordered.
The Clerk read a oommunication from 1. M. Me Carthy, Cashier of the Caldwell state
,sank, offering the west downstairs room of the Masonic Building for the use of the Red
Cross and Rest Room. And because of the charitable nature of the service, he offered the
May 7th, 1931
It was moved by Vsssar and seconded by Sandmeyer that the Cflty accept the above offer
commencing with June let. 1931, provided that there was no time lease on the room now
occupied by the Red Cross and Rest Room. Motion Carried.
I✓• 1.. 0. Gray appeared before the Council and reported that the City Dog Catcher had
come to his house and had taken his dog, a female with smell puppies, and that the dog
had been held by him overnight, but that aid dog had now been returned.
Mark Sawyer, City Dog Catcher, was present and reported that he had gone to the Gray
home upon the complaint of the neighbors, that the dog was vicious. That he had opened
the door and as the dog came out he had put a collar on the dog and brought her to the
City pond.
The City Attorney gave the Ordinance, No. 20, relating to the keeping of vicious
dogs in the city.
The City Attorney was given instructions to make the necessary arrangements to
dispose of the said dog.
The Mayon appointed eoark Sawyer to be the City Dog Catcher for the ensuing term.
It was moved by Sandmeyer and seconded by Vassar that this appointment be confirmed.
Motion carried.

Vassar brought up the matter concerning the supplying of the City with gas and
oil by the Continental oil Co.
The'matter was laid 6n the table for future consideration.
B. H. Smith of Mountain Home took up the reading of the Audit of the VanDeu ®en
Audit Co. Inc. This Audit was gone into very extensively by Mr. Smith, and explained
by him in a very satisfactory manner.
on motion by sandmeyer and seconded by Vassar, the Bonds of the Treasurer for
10,000.00 and of the Clerk for �! 3,000.00 were accepted and approved.
it was moved by Dickens and seconded by Vassar that this Council adjourn and
to be "oopvened upon the call of the Mayor. Motion Carried.

The Mayor appointed the Air Fort Committe as follows: The Mayor, Chairman, Frank
Mumford, Frank Roberts, Dr. E. E. Dutton and Jesse Gowen.
