M. nnn The newly elect Mayor erne Council met in regular session with Mayor MoConnel presiding and Councilmen 'BOLLMAN, DICKENS, JOHNS, LEIGHTY, MILLER AND SANDMEYER, PRESENT. ABSENT: NONE. It was voted on motion of Leighty, seconded by Bollman, that Sandmeyer be Pros — ident of the Gouncil. Phe Mayor appointed committies as follower: IMPROVQMT; SANDMEYER, DICKENS AND MILLER. ROAD, BRIDGE AND SPRINKLING; DICKENS AND LEIGHTY. IR'IIGATION AND DRAINAGE; MIGHTY AND BOLLMAN. FINANCE; MILLER AND SANDUEYER. .'FIRE;; LEIGHTY. PARR; BOLLMAN AND MILLER. � CITY HALL AND OEMETERY; JOHNS. The Mayor appointed J. Fred Rowland, Ulief of ,Police. It was voted on motion of Miller, seconded by Bollman, that the appointment of J. Fred Rowland as Uhief of Police be confirmed. The Mayor appointed 1. ir. Porter, City Engineer. liotion was made by Leighty, that L. Ind. Potter be confirmed, bu# did not receive a second. The Mayor appointed J. W. Ross as Sexton. It was voted on motion of Johns, seconded by Miller, that the appointment of J. W. Ross as Seaton be confirmed. Lire. Agnes V. Tompkins and others appeared before the touneil and asked that Caldwell Sales Co. yards be removed, as being unsanitary and a nuisance. It was voted on motion of Miller, seconded by Bollman, that a committee be appointed to investigate conditions and report to the Council. The Mayor appointed Bollman and Dickens. It. was voted on motion of Rollmen, seconded by Leighty, that Gouncil adjourn to May 7, 1929, at 8:00, P. !ii. APPROVED: o lark. ROR.. COUNCIL CHAMBERS, MAY 7, 1929, 8:00, P. Ia. Council met in regular session persuant to adjournment of May 6, 1929,- with Mayor McGonnel presiding and Uouncilmen BOLLMAN, DICKENS, JOHNS, LEIGRTY AND S=MEYER, PRESENT. MILLER: ABSENT. The Ulerk read the resignation of Dean Miller, as Councilman, to take effect immediately. It was voted on motion of Sandmayer, seconded by nollman, that the raglgnstion be accepted. 0. A. Payne appeared before the Uounoil regarding a proposed Filling Station on the corner of Cleveland Boulevard and Linden Street. It was voted on lotion of Bollman, seconded by Uickans, that a committee of ABP30VKD: ®lark. COUNCIL CHAMBERS, MAY 13, 1929, 6:00, P. M. II II a° F u M1 Counoil met in reghlar session perauant to adjournment of May 7, 1929, with mayor Iioconnel presiding and Uouncilmen 30LLjUN, DICKENS, r20HNS, LEIGHTY AND SAND1ZEYER, PRESENT. ABSENT: NONE. r The Clerk read a petition signed by 117 Citizens of Osldwell, asking for the appointment of A. G. %sister, resident address 304 Cleveland Boulevard, to fill the va— caeaney made by Dean I6111er resigning as Councilman faom the Third Ward. The petition was ordered placed on file. Councilman Bollman reported for the committda investigating the 0. A. Payne Filling Station, and stated that it would come under the provision of an Ordinance drawn to regulate, and not a matter for the committee to decide. And further, that the matter Of zoneing regulations with regard to Filling Stations in the resident portion of the City', should have careful consideration. It was voted on motion of Johns, seconded by Dickens, that the report of the committee be accepted. It was voted on motion of Leighty, seconded by Dickens, that the City Attorney be Instructed, to dwaw an ordinance regulating and zoneing Filling Stations in residential Districts. It was voted on motion of Bollman, seconded by Laighty, that a committee be appointed to oonfer with the City Attorney in drawing the Zoneing Ordinance. The Mayor appointed Bollman and Leighty. B. H. Smith representing Van Dusan, Snell & Co., presented an Audit Report covering the City Books Sod Accounts at the close of business April 30, 1929. Mr. Smith explained in detail several parts of the report. It was voted oh motion of Leighty, seconded by Johns, that the Auditor's Report be accepted and approved. It was voted on motion of Sandmeyer, seconded by Dickens, that the bill of van Dusan, Snell & Gompany in the sum of $250.00 for Audit Report presented, be allowed, and a warrant ordered drawn for the amount. Dounoilman Bollman reported for the committee investigating the conditions of the Sale Yards, stating that,the conditions were not very good, and that something should be done with regard to keeping them clean and sanitary and not be allowed to any stook in the yardo only just during the time of the sale.
