The newly elect Mayor ano council met in regular session with Mayor MoConnel presiding and Councilmen SOLLMAN, DICKENS, JOHNS, LEIGHTY, MILLER AND SANDMEYER, PRESENT. ABSENT: NONE. It was voted on motion of Leighty, seconded by Bollman, that Sandmeyer be Pres- ident of the aounoil. The Mayor appointed committies as follows: IMPROVEMENT; SANDMEYER, DICKENS AND MILLER. ROAD, BRIDGE AND SPRINKLING; DICKENS AND LEIGHTY. IRRIGATION AND DRAINAGE; LEIGHTY AND ROLLMAN. FINANCE; CALLER AND SANDMEYER. 'FIRE;; LEIGHTY. PARK; BOLTMAN AND MILLER. CITY HALL AND CEMETERY; JOHNS. The Mayor appointed J. Fred 'lowland, Glief of 1 It was voted on motion of Miller, seconded by Bollman, that the appointment of J. Fred Rowland as Chief of Police be confirmed. The Mayor appointed L. L. Porter, City Engineer. Motion was made by Leighty, that L. I5. Porter be confirmed, bu# did not receive a second. The Mayor appointed J. W. Rosa as Sexton. i It was voted on motion of Johns, seconded by Miller, that the appointment of J. W. Rose as Sexton be confirmed. Lira. Agnes V. Tompkins and others appeared before the 6ounoil end asked that Caldwell Sales cc. yards be removed, as being unsanitary and a nuisance. It was voted on motion of Miller, seconded by Bollman, that a committee be appointed to investigate conditions and report to the Council. The Mayor appointed Bollman and Uickens.
