Council Chamber, City of Caldwell, Idaho, May 6th., 1918.
Council meet in regular session with Uayor F. L. Lilly presiding, present,
Councilmen Dickens, Mitchell, Sanberg and ':Ward, City Clerk, S. Ben Dunlap, when the follow-
ing business was transacted;
Councilman Ward was requested to act as Finance Committee during the temporary
absence of Councilman F. i,. Miller.
Mr. Henry Griffiths appeared and requested the City to clean drain ditch in the
north part of the City. He stated that immediate action was necessary in order to avoid
damage to private property and City streets.
Upon motion of Mitchell, the matter was referred to the Street Committee and to
the Uayor for action.
Messrs. R. R. Fisk and F. T. Fueling, representing the Commercial Club appeared
and requested that the west end of Hasbrouck Park be made into a municipal camping ground
for auto tourists. They also requested that the Council announce its pe11cy relative the
development of Hasbrouck Park.
It was voted on motion of Councilman Mitchell that the matter be referred to the
Park Committee, Finance Committee and City Attorney for investigation and report to the
Council.
Mr. A. J. Cole appeared and requested that a bridge be constructed over
irrigation ditch on 14th Avenue between Main and Arthur Streets. The matter was referred to
the Road Committee with power to act.
The minutes of the meetings held April 1st., and 8th., 1918, resiectively were
read and on motion of Councilman Ward, a_r.proved.
The following bills which had been O.K'd by Councilman Vdard, acting Finance
Committee, were read, and on motion of Councilman Sanberg, were approved and warrants
ordered drawn on the various funds in payment of the same as follows:

The application of Fire Chief for ten dollar raise in salary was read and
action deferred until next meeting.

F. E. Meek and W. T. Kimbrough al7peared and requested that Fillmore Street,
be graded and put in condition for travel, tiey also requested that the street be
Sprinkled between Fourth and Kimball Avenuas.
The matter was referred to the Street Committee.

the installation znd hying of all plumbing fixtures and material within the corporate
limits of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, providing th4t the building inspoctor Shall have
charge and supervision of the laying and installation of all plumbing material and
fixtures; and providing a penalty for the violation thereof, end repealing sections 11 -12
and 12 of Ordinance 1 92, entitled, 'An 0= 'dinance ralating to sewers and drainage
and providing a penalty for the violation thareof,' passed by the City Council April
29th., 1907, approved by the Liuyor May 1, 1907, and all ordinances and. parts of ordinances
