Council met in regular session pursuant to law with Mayor tdo0onnel
presiding, and Councilmen, Bollmon, Dickens, Johns, Leighty and Sandmeyer,.
present. Abaent,• Gordon.
Owing to the absence of the City Clerk, the iaiayor appointed Mr. W. C.
Dyer Acting Clerk, and announced that the Council was in session for the ooneid-
oration of any business which might lawfully come before it.
Mr A. R. Oolvard appeared before the Counoil and requested that
provisions be madb to take care of the water standing near his residence
occasioned by lack of proper drainage and obstructions in the drain ditch. After
discussing the subject with the Codnoll the Mayor referred the- matter to the City
Engineer for investigation and attention.
Mesare..0. F. oellien, 0. Francis Miller, H. G. reokham, and W, F. Homan,
representing Intermountain Oo- operative Gas & oil Company, appeared before the
Counoil and requeeted the passage of an ordinance granting a franchise to
intermountain Co- operative Gas & Oil Company, for the laying of gas pipes and
mains in the streets and alleys in the city. A proposed form of ordinance wig
read and considered by the Counoil, whereupon the Mayor directed. the City Attorney
Frank E. leek and *Attorney M. H. Eustsoe, to redraft the ordinance and present
it for consideration of the Council at its neat meeting.
Thereupon, motion was made by Councilman Dickens seconded by
Oaanoilman Leighty that further consideration of the bid of H. J. MoNeel for
performing labor, furnishing material and constructing the works proposed to be
oonstracted in Looal Street Improvement District No. 9, of the City of Caldwell,
Idaho, be continued for further consideration to the meeting of the Mayor and
Counoil to be held in the Coanail•Chambers in the City Hall, in the City ot
Caldwell, May 12; 1930, at 8;00 o'clock F.M. Those voting in the affirmative:
Bollman, Dickens; Johns, Leighty and 8andmeyer. Those voting in the negative;
None. Absent and not voting: Gordon. Thereupon, the Mayor declared the _
motion carried.
On motion made by Sandmeyer and seconded by Bollmen the following
bills were allowed and warrants ordered drawn on the various funds in payment
thereof, to -wit;
