Council Chambers, City of Caldwell Idaho, Monday evening, May 5, 1913.
Council met in regular session with Mayor C.G.Turner, presiding, and Councilmen O.R.
Ackley,C.Q.Adams, Ernest Boone,Fred N.Harrington, W.E.Parker and John Steunenberg,
present, S.Ben Dunlap. Clerk, when the following business was ttanaacted.
The following having qualified were inducted in to office.
C.H.Turner, mayor, S.Pen Dunlap, city clerk and ex- officio police judge, E.A.
Fortner,treaeurer, Fred H.MeConnel, engineer, and O.R.Ackley, C.Q.Adams,Ernest
Boone,Fred N.Harrington, W.E.Parker and John Steunenberg councilmen.
The mayor announced the following appointments.
Chief of Pllice - D.D.Campbell.
Policeman - Bob Cavin.
Water Superintendent - Swain Beaty.
Street Superintendent - Henry Vinson.
City Attorney - Alfred F.Stene.
Voted, on motion of Boone, that each appointment be acted on separately.
On the appointment or D.D.Campbell, chief of police, the roll being called, the vote
resulted.
Ayes 0
Nays - Ackley, Adams, Boone, Harrington,Parker,Steunenberg, -6
Absent - none.
So the appointment was not conformed .
On the appointment of Bob Cavin,policeman , the roll being called, the vote resulteda
Ayes - 0
Nays - Ackley, Adame, Boone, Harrington, Parker, Steunenberg, -
Absent - none.
Sc the appointment was not confirmed.
On the appointment of Swain Beaty, water supernntendent , the roll being called
the vote resulted.
Ayes - 0
Nays - Ackley, Adams, Boone,Harrington, Parker, Steunenberg - 6.
Absent- none.
So the appointment was not confirmed.
On the appointment of Henry Vinson, street supenintendent, the roll being called
the vote resulted=
Ayes - 0
Naye- Ackley, Adams, Boone, Harrington, Parker, Steunenberg, - &.
Absent none.
So the appointment was not conformed.
On the appointment of Alfred F. Stone, city attorney, the roll being called the
vote resulted.
Ayes- 0
Nays- Ackley, Adams, Boone, Harrington,Parker, Steunenberg- 6.
Absent - nont.
So the appointment was not confirmed.
The mayor announced the following committees.
Finance, E.Boone.

Voted of rct.ion of Adams , that the appointments as a whole be confirmed.
Bond of S.Ben Dunlapm,city clerk and ex- officio police ,judge, in the United States
Fidelity and Guaranty Co.,in the amount of 43 was presented,
Bond of Ethtlwyn A.Fortner, city treasurer, in the National Surety Co.,in the amount
of 010,000, was presented,
The following banks filed personal bonds in the following amounts,
First Vational rank, aI5,000 „
Caldwell Commerical `_lank 012,500,.
Western national Bank, C15,000.
Voted on motion of Boone, that tho Mayor apt)uint a ooerunittaa of two to examine the
bonds. The mayor appointed on the committee , Boone, and Parker.
Claim of the Caxton Printers in the sum of 4"2I for 3,000 special voucher checks, was
on motion of Steunenberg referred to the finance committee
City Attorney Wallace reported the claim of W.A.Stone,for Judgment costs end
interest in the case of Jones vs.the Pity of Caldwell,in the sum of 12932.73, as O.K.
Voted on motion of Parker that the same be referred to the incoming city attorney.
Voted on motion of Adams that the council adjourn until Wednesday May 7,1 13.,
at 8o'clock p.m.
