Motion carried. 7 City Clerk. Mayor. COUNCIL G1W4BERS, MAY 3rd, 1948, 8:00 P. ?1. The Regular Monthly Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Rooms of the City Hall, with the President of the Council, Leo J. Mason, Acting as Mayor. presiding. On Roll Call. the follmi_nC uoancilmen answered present: Leo J. Mason, Iffm Glaisyer, L. E. Burrell, John hyers, Dale F ^enrich and Bryan Harding. App1i_cation for Peer License was read from Frank Barber and Henry Loody, the fee acasyrpanying the application. Rev. Paulson of the Baptist Church, spokesman for a number of eitisens present protested the issuing of this beer license. Loved by 14yers, seconded by Harding that this license be den9_ed. Upon Roll Call it appearec the motion was unanimously carried. Robt Trox ?ll presented a Plat of Fasley's Sub - division to the City of Caldwell for theapproval of the Acting 1.4ayor and Council. 11r. 1'roxell stated if the plat was accepted by the City they would agree to give easement to the City for right to run irrigation ditches and lines along the lot lines. Moved by Glaisyer, seconded by Burrell the Plat of Pasley's Sub - division to the City of Caldwell be accepted. On Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried. ' It was unanimously voted by the Council that hereafter the property owners of new: plats to the City of- Caldwell must bring the streets to grade, gravel and sand at their own expense. Application for Punch Board License was read from Frank Barber and H -+nry Moody, the fee accompanyi'. the application. This application was tabled. Application for $lot machine License was read from Waldorf Cigar Store, the fee accompanying the Moved by Myers, sec.. - coded by Burrell that this License be granted. Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried. Moved by Burrell, seconded by Glaisyer the City appropriate $500.00 to Caldwell Memorial Swimming Pool and that warrant be drawn for same. On Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried. It was moved r by Councilman Glaisyer, seconded by Councilman Fenrich that the rules requiring that the reading of a Bill on three separate days be suspended and Bill No 1, be read the second time by title and the third time in full section by section and placed on the final passage. The Mayor directed the Clerk to call the roll on the above motion with the following results Those voting in the affirmative weres Mason, Burrell, Myers, Acting Glaisyer, Fenrich and Harding♦ Negatives None. Absent and not voting: None. The /Mayor declared the motion had passed by the necessary three- fourths majority and directed the Clerk to read Bill No I the second time by title and the third time in full section by section. The Clerk read the Bill as directed. Acting The question being "Shall Bill No 1 pass ?" The /Mayor directed the Clerk to call the roll on the above question which resulted as follows Those voting in the affirmative weres Mason, Glaisyer, Burrell, Myers, Fenrich and 'larding. Thereupon the Acting Mayor declared Bill No 1, had passed and the Acting Mayor in open session of the Council duly signed and approved the Bill, and the Clerk duly signed and attested the same which became Acting Ordinance No 722. The /Mayor directed the Clerk to make proper entry of the same and to cause Ordinance No. 722 to be, published in the Caldwell, Idaho. Thereupon Councilman Harding introduced Bill No 2, entitled: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1-689 OF THE CITY OF OAID;.ELL, IDAHO: ELIMINATING AND CHANGING CERTA CLASSIFICATIONS OF POSITIONS IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF CAID'."ELL; FURTHER AMENDING SECTION 1-60 , , CALDWELL CODE OF 1942 AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 627, 637, 670, 688, and 689 OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL RE- LATTNG TO COMPENSATION TO BE PAID DULY CONSTITUTED 'iRdiIBERS OF THE POLICEMPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF CALDWELL; PROVIDING THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND PROVIDING FURTHER FOR THE REPEALING OF ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT BEREWITHs which was read for the first time and the Council proceeded to a consideration of Bill No 2. The Acting Mayor directed the Clerk to make proper entry of the same and to cause Ordinance No 723, to be, published in the Caldwell News - Tribune the official newspaper of the city of Cald- well, Idaho. RESOLUTION Upon motion by Myera, seconded by Fenrich, the following Resolution was propoaeds Zy/ WHEREAS, It appears to b a equitable and necessary under existing economic conditions that certain salaries and wages of the employees of the City of Caldwell which are not otherwise set and determined by Ordinance should be adjusted by the Acting Mayor and Council of ths.City of Caldwell: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: Section 1.
