The.Rggular Monthly Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Rooms of the City Hall with the Mayor, 17. R. Hollingsworth presiding. On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present; Edgar L. Oakes, F. A. Mumford, G. M. Fenrich, W. E. Babcock, Absent; W. S. Boynton and Norvil T. Hinds. The Minutes of April 14th., 18th., and 25th„ were read and approved as read. Oscar Stengel appeared before the Mayor and Council and requested the City to put in a bridge across the drain ditch at 7th., and Freeport. This matter was referred to Obuncilman Fenrich and the City Engineer, J. M. Tengman requested permission to construct a warehouse at 14th., and Chicago. This matter was referred to the Zoning Board. Mr. J. B. Gowen, Chairman of the Park Commission gave a report on the Rose Garden. Mr. Hinds entered and was marked present. L. C. Krell reported that he had contacted the Boy Scout Masters in regard to "Clean Up Week ". The City Clerk read a letter from the Kiwanis Club regarding the W. P. A. Recreation Program. Moved by Oakes, seconded by Mumford th,t the Mayor appoint a W. P. A. Re- creation Program Committee. Motion carried. The Mayor appointed the following on the W. P. A. Recreation Program Cc*- mittee: the City Engineer and Councilmen Fenrich and Hinds. Application for Beer License was read from The Rummy House, the fee accomp ing the application Moved by Babcock, seconded by Hinds that this license be granted. Motion carried. The Bills for April more read and on motion by Qakes.seconded by Mumford these Bills be allowed and Warrants be drawn for the various amounts all of which had approved b� the Chairman of the Finance Committee. Pursuant to adjourment of the Regular Monthly Meeting held on May 2nd,, 1938, the Council met in the Council Room with the Mayor, W. F. Hollingsworth, presiding. On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present: Edgar L. Oakes, F. b. Mumford, W. S. Boynton, W, E. Babcock, G. M. Fenrich and Norvil T. Hinds. Rev. Rohn appeared and ask6fermission to erect a temporary tabernacle. Moved by Oakes, seconded by Babcock that a committee be appointed with power to a et. Motion carried. The Mayor appointed the City Attorney, City Engineer and 6ouncilmer Oakes, Babcock and Fenrich, The Mayor appointed the following committee to work out a plan to clean up the lots at the City Burnt Councilmen Babcock, Oakes and Hinds, The Mayor appointed LM S. R.H. DAVENPORT MRS ",T.RERY L, VASSAR on the LIBRARY BOARD. Moved by Babcock, seconded by Fenrich that these appointments be confirmed. Motion carried. The Clerk read letter f rom the City Treasurer, H. E. P ^rmsnter as follows: May - .9, 1938. I L_J To the Honorable Mayor and City Council, Caldwell, Idaho. Dear Sirs: I hereby ask for authority to transfer from those funds that have a surplus and unexpended balance, into the General Fund so that registered warrants may be called and redeemed, as per Sec. 1716 Chapter 49 Idaho Code Annotated 1932.
