The Regular Monthly Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Room of the
City Hall, with the Mayor, Emery L. Vassar presiding.
On Roll Call, the followjMg Councilmen answered present: Edgar L. Oakes, 7. S.
Boynton,-C- E. Bales, G. W. Montgomery, G. M. Penrich, and ''a. R. Hollingsworth.
The Minutes of April 2nd, were read and approved as read.
C. E, Mason requested the city to repair the street at 3rd and Pillmore. Mr.
Vassar advised that this would be token care cf.
P. M. Wilson appeared before the Council and applied for a Beer and Card Room
license.. Motion by Montgomery, seconded by Bales that this License be granted. Motion
carried..
•d+ Committee from the 20 -30 Club appeared before the Council and discussed the
matter of installing public parking places on I,Sain betwe -en 5th and 6th and on Blaine be-
tween 7th and 8th.
, The Fire Chief submitted his annual Report which was placed on _file.
Mr. McConnel reported that Maple Street from 1x1ontana to 'Co11Fge Ave. , and Oak
from College xve., to Illinois could be opened this fall. Motion by Boynton, seconded
by Oakes that this report be accepted. Motion carried.
, The Cemetery Committee requested the City Engineer to survey the lots in the
Dry Lot Cemetery.
„;r. McConnel stated t'hzt the Pioneer Irrigation should pay the power on the
Pump on Blaine Street The Mayor requested Oodncilman 'enrich to investigatq.
_The Bills for Aril were read and on motion by Bales, secondel,by.Montgomery
that these bills be allowed and warr:.nts be ordered drawn for the Itarinus amounts all of
which been approved by the Chairman of the Finance Committee. Potion carried.

A. Call T,deeting of the City Council met in the Council Room of the City Hall,
with the iaayor, Emery L. Vassar presiding.
On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present: C. E. Dales, Edgar L.
Oakes, W. S. Boynton, G. M. 7enrich, and 1.7. R. Hollingsworth, absent . G. '14. Montgomery.
The City Clerk presented a bill against Tohn Tucker for $P160.00,, rent due the
City .for the Cemetery* house. 'the Player requested the City Attorney to collect this bill.
G. 14. Mcntr -omery ent red and was marked present.
Mr. R. C. Pasley and t.;r. 'd. T. Kimbrough appeared before the Council on -ehalf
of the Merchants ssociation and asked the City to donate $500.00 for Municipal band
Concerts. Mr. Packer and Lr. 1;yde gave lnternsting talks on this subject.
Mr. hden Hyde arpeered on behalf of the Library Board and asked the City to
adopt some plan to take up out standing warria:nts and further explained the disbursements
for the Library and asked that the appropriation for the Library be not lowered. The
lwayor informed Mr. Hyde that this would be ta:;en under advisement.
The Clerk read a letter from Callahan L Co., .regarding On account of x;65.00
which wa - s due On a set of books, ordered by Frank F.'eek at the time he eras City :attorney.
The Mayor instructed the City Clerk to answer 'his letter.
letter s"es read from the Hartford Insurance Co., explaining whereby the flee
rate .;a cheaper including the fire appsr,,tuz.
Motion by Dories, seconded by Oslces that the fleet rates be used. Motion
carried.

of outstanding it
The Mayor reappointed P. D. 1.1umford on the Library bard. Moved by Oakes,
seconded by ? :ont;omcr that this ap,:ointment be confirmed. Lotion carried.
Chief,Doyle Fender reported that the majoritq of people had complied with
the electry 1 inspection.
The Clerk read a list of uncollectable bills and asked that they be ch,,rged of:
the water book.
Lotion by Eont�;om�ry, seconded by 1011ingsworth that the City Clerk '•�e author-
ized to charge these bills off the ;rater hook. 1-lotion carried.
