Ben Dunlap presiding, and the following Councilmen being present; Dgvis, Modonnel, Mumford, Hoffman; Dutton and Jackson. Counoilman F. D. Mumford was elected President of the 0ouncil. The Mayor appointed Dr. J. W. Gas City Physician. It was voted on motion of Rumford, seconded by Modonnel that Dr. J. W. Gue be confirmed as City Physician. The Mayor appointed Hugh N. Caldwell City Attorney. It was voted on motion of Jackson, seconded by MoOonnel that the appointment Of Hugh N. Cgldwell be confirmed. The Mayor appointed John Rose, Seaton. It was voted on motion of Jaokson, seconded by Hoffman that the appointment of John Rose, Seaton be confirmed. The Mayor appointed D. J. Terry, Superintendent of Streets, but no action taken. The Mayor appointed Swain Beaty, Superintendent of Water Works. On motion of Davis, seconded by Hoffman, that the appointment be confirmed, the Mayor diredted the Clerk to call the roll with the following results; Ayes: Davis and Hoffman. Hayes: Mcjonnel, Rumford, Dutton and Jaokson. The Mayor declared the above motion as stated lost. The appointed Wm. Bisohoff, Superintendent of Parka. It was voted on motion of MoConnel, seconded by Mumford, that the appointment of Wm. Bischoff be confirmed. The Mayor appointed H. C. Gillett, Chief of Fire Department. It was voted on motion of Hoffman, seconded by Dutton, that the appointment of H. C. Gillett be confirmed. The Mayor appointed J. Fred 'Rowland, Chief of Police. It was voted on motion of Mumford, seconded by Hoffman, that the appointment of J. Fred Rowland be oonfirmed. The Mayor appointed Wm. F. Schnabel, Policeman. It was voted on motion of McConnel, seconded by Davie, that the appointment of Wm. F. Sohnabel be appaoved. Councilman F. D. Uumford was appointed as memiber of the Library Board. The Mayor named a speoial committee known as the "City'Improvement Committee ", and nominated Mo0onnel, Dutton and Davis as members of said committee. It was voted on motion of H9ffman, seconded by Mumford, that the above committee be confirmed. The Mayor appointed Numfordland Hoffman as members of the Finance Committee. it was voted on motion of Modonn®ll, seconded by Davis, that the appointment of Mumford and Hoffman bd confirmed. An invitation was extended to the Mayor, Six 4ouncilmen, City'dlerk and City Treasurer to be guests of the E3wanis Ilub at its meeting May 4, 1927 at 12:�5 P.M. at the M. E. Church. It was voted on Motion of Jackson, seconded by Rumford, that the invitation accepted with thanks. There being no further business, it was voted on motion of Jackson, seconded by Davis, that the Council adjourn until May 9, 1927, at 8:00 P. M. APPROVED. COUNCIL CHAMBER, MAY 16, 1927. ty erk. Council meet 'in regular session, persuant to adjpurnment, May 16. 1927 at 8:00 P. M. with Mayor Dantap presiding, Councilmen Davis, Dutton, Hoffman, Jackson, McOonnel and Rumford present. The Mayor appointed the following committees, the first named to serve as chairman: Finance 13ommittee, Mumford and Hoffman. streets, Sprinkling and Park Committee, yavis and M000nnel. ®emetery committee, Dutton and Jackson. City Hall Committee, Jackson and Dutton. Fire Oommittee, Hoffman and MoGonnel. Irrigation, Drainage and Water Works, M000nnel and Davis. The application of J. Weil & Go. for Pool Hall License was read, and it was voted on motibn of Hoffman, seconded b1l Davis that the license application be laid on the table. BILL NO. 1, entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 421, entitled ' AN ORDINANCE'AMENDING SECTION 13 OF ORDINANCE NO376, ENTITLED r!'AN ORDINANC AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 111, ENTITLED " 'AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO 93 MATING TO LICENSES AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF' ' "; RELATING TO TENT SH OR OTHER SHOWS NOT HEREIN MENTIONED, AND PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSE THEREOF" BE71T ORDAINED By the Mayor and 4ounoil of the Qity of Qaldwell, Idaho: Section 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 421 of the Gity of Oaldwell, Idaho, passed and approved on the 7th day of June, 1926, be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows: "That Section 13 of Ordinance No/ 376 of the Gity of Caldwell, Idaho, passed and approved on the 6th day of Nov. 1922, be, and the same is hereby, amended to read as follows: 'Section 13, The keeper or proprietor of any kind of tent show, open air show, or other show not here- in mentioned, except such as are exempted by statute and except those given in opera houses or hall, shall pay a license to carry on such business the sum of Twenty - five Dollars ($"26.00) per day of Fifty Vollars ($50.00) per week. " Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict frith th &s ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in force and take effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication. Bill No. 1 by Mumford was read for the first time, and on motion by Rumford, seconded by Hoffman, that the rules requiring the reading of a bill on three separate days be suspended, and Bill No. 1 be read the second time by title and the third time in fall, and placed on its final passage. The Mayor directed the Clerk to call the roll on the aforesaid motion with the following results: AYES: Davis, Dutton, Hoffman, Jackson, Mo0onnel and Mumford. i NAPES: None. Bill No. I was read the second time by title and the third time in full section by section, and on the question as put by the Mayor, Shall Bill No. 1 pass? the Clerk was directed to call the roll with the following results: AYES: DAVIS.
