Shmrb, Clerk, when the following business was traneactedt The minutes bf the regular and adjourned meetings in April were read read and approved. The bide for the laying of sidewalk were opened as follows Bid of D. R. Beatty 11 g!q cents per square foot and 69J per yard for fills. Bid of F. W. Whittier 14 1/2 cents per square foot and 75� per yard for fills. Bid of Calkins & Lesley 12 cents per square foot for walk and 75¢ per cubic yard for fills. A motion was made by Farrar that the claim of the James Kennedy Construction Co., in the sum of $1524.63 be allowed on the General Fund. The roll being called on the motion, the vote resulted: Ayes-- Devera, Farrar, Gartin, Harrie Paynter - -5, Nays -- Clark, Absent - -0. So the motion prevailed. The claim of the Caldwell Plumbing & Heating Co. in the sum of 81933.08 was read and a motion was made by Farrar that the same be allowed on the Water Works Fund. The roll being called on the motion, the vote resulted: Ayes -- Clark, Devers, Farrar, Gartin, Harr-is, Paynter - -6. Nays and absent - -0. Do the motion prevailed. A motion was made by Clark that the claims of Allen & McGee and Calkins & Lesley be allowed as checked by the Engineer. The matter of widening Ninth Street bridge was referred to the Street Committee. Motion of Farrar, Council adjourned tntil Tuesday evening, May 3, 1910. Tuesday, May 3, 1910. Council met in regular session pursuant to adjournment with Mayor Gowen presiding and CAnoilmen Clark, Devere, Farrar, Gartin, Harris, Payn- ter presentf 9horb, Clerk. A motion was made by Farrar that the contracts for all sidewalk in the paving district not covered by She bid of Calkins & Lesley be awarded to F. W. Whittier at 14 IN per square foot. The roll being called on the motion, the vote resulteds Ayes -- Clark, Pavers, Farrar, Gartin, Harris, Paynter - -6. Nays and abaent - -0. So the motion prevailed. Sill No. 42, by Gartin, entitled, "An Ordinance fixing the fife limits, in the City of Caldwell, Idaho, and providing for the erection and inspection of buildings therein, the appointment of a building inspect6r, specifying his duties and compensa- tion, repealing all ordinances in conflict with this ordinance and providing a penalty for the violation thereof ", was read the first time. A motion was made by-Farrar that the fules be suspended and the readings on three separate days be dispensed with and that Bill No. 42 be read the second time by title and the third time in full and placed on its final passage. The roll being called on the motion, the vote resulted: Ayes-- CLark, ravers, Farrar, Gartin, Harris, Paynter - -6. Nays and Absent - -0. So the motion prevailed.
