The Mayor and Council duly elected at.the Municipal Election held Tuesday 26, 1959, met in Regular Session at the City Hall in Caldwellk Idaho, the 1st day of May, 1959, at the hour of 8:45 o'clock P. M. I( Roll Call showed the following present: Honorable Ed Simmerman, Mayor, Max Luby and Emile Shorb, First Ward Councilmen, E. L. Vassar and N. E. (Coley) Smith, Rmotailmmm Second Ward Councilmen, Leland Finley and L. P. Eldredge, Third Ward Councilmen. Mayor Ed Simma..an, Councilman Emile Shorb, Councilman N. E. (Coley) Smith and Councilman L. P. � Eldredge each having taken and filed their oaths of office they were deccared duly qualified. The Mayor announced the first order of ousiness to be the appointment of a City Attorney. Thereuoon the Mayor announced the appointment of Dean E. Fuller, to be the City Attorney for the City of Caldwell, for a period of two years. Whereupon Councilman Vassar moved that the appointment be confirmed, this motion was duly secondedi' by Councilman Shorb. Opon Roll Call those voting in theaffirmative were: Vassar, Smith, Ludy, Shorb, Eldredge and Finley. Negative: None. Absent a:d not voting: None. The Mayor declared the motioncarried and the appointment of Dean E. Miller, to be City Attorney, for the City of Caldwell, for a period of two years, confirmed. The Mayor announced that nominations for President of the Council were in order E. L. Vassar was nominated by Councilman Shorb. Moved by Councilman Finley, seconded by Councilman Luby teat nominations be closed. Upon Roll Call it apnear,d the motion was unanimously carried. Thai upon the Ma ^or announced Councilman E. L. Vassar to be President of the Council Moved by Finley, seconded by Luby,Jackson °Messuri be awarded the contract for the audit of the City books. Upon Roll Call it apoeared the motion waslunani.mously carried. The City Clerk was intructed to write for a copy of dog ordinances from towns in Idaho having,. Ili dog leash ordinances. The Mayor reminded the Council the garbage contract would be up for renewal in June and a thorough study should be made before that time. Mayor Simmerman reported he had been invited to attend the Aerial Fire Power Demonstration to be held in Florida., also, there would be no expense to the City. Moved by Vasar, seconded by Finley Mayor Simmerman be authorized to attend this demonstration. Upon Roll Call it anceared the motion was unanimously carried. There being no further ousiness to come before the Council it was moved by Councilman Luby, seconded by Councilman Shorb that council adjourn. Motion carried. Xavor. The Regular M.;nthly Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Romms of the City Hall, with the President of the Council presiding in the absence of Manor Ed Simmerman. Upon Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present: E. L. Vassar, N. E. (Coley) Smith, 4ax Luby, Emile Shorb, L. P. Eldredge a nd Leland Fioley.
