The newly elected M and City Council met in Regular Session with Mayor, Edgar'
L. Oakes, presiding.
On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present: M.S. Sandmsyer, 71. E.
Babcock, C. 0, McDannel, W.B. Handford, G. M. Fenrich and Oscar Stengel.
The Mayor announced that the first order of business would be the election of a
President of the Council.
Moved by Babcock, seconded by McDannel that M.S. Sandmeyer be nominated Presider
of the Council. Motion carried.
Moved by Babcock, seconded by McDannel that the nominations close and that M.S.
Sendmeyer be elected President of the Council. Motion carried.
Thereupon, the Mayor decicred that I.T. S. Sandmeyer was elected President of the
(Council.

The Mayor appointed his Standing Committees as follows
FINANCE: W, E. Babcock and Oscar Stengel
ROAD: M.S.Sandmeyer and 0. M. Fenrich
IRRIGATION: G. M. Fenrich and C. 0. VeD
FIRE & WATEH'IORKS: W.B. Handford and M,S.Sandmeyer
CEMETERY: C. 03 McD §nnel and W.B. Handford
CITY HALL: W.B. Handford and W.E. Babcock.
PARK: Oscar Stengel and W.E.Babcock.
GOLF: W.E.Babcock. Council Member.
Airport: G. M. Fenrich, Council_ Member.
The Mayor also appointed the following:
CITY ATTORNEY: William Jarvis.
CITY:ENGINEER: Fred McOonnel.
ROAD DEPARTMENT: S. P. Glenn.
WATER DEPARTMENT: D. K. Beatty
IRRIGATION DEPARTMENT: C. L. Bourland,
PARKS: T.D. Finn.
FIRE DEPARTMENT: D.C. Fender
FIREMEN: No changes.
SEXTON AT CEMETERY: Goo. Hammer.
POLICE JUDGE: John Nelson.
DUMP GROUNDS: E.C. Hickok.
Moved by Handford, seconded by Babcock that all of the above appointments be ap-
On Roll Call the following Councilmen voted in favor of the above motion: Sand-
mayor, Babcock, McDannel, Handford, Fenrich and Stengel. Those opposed: None. Absent
and not voting: None.
Thereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried and that all the a bove appoint-
ments were confirmed.
The City Clerk read a letter from Mrs. R. B. Scatterday tenderg ng her resignation
from the Park Commission, This matterwas left on the table.
A Petition signed by property owners was read requesting that a Sprinkling
District be formed for Ash and Michigan'S`treets.

A Petition signed by Taxpayers and Citizens was read requesting a street light

installed at the corner of Michigan and Ash Streets,
The above Petitionsmare left on the table.

Petition signed by Property Owners was read requesting a Sewer from Ash Street
to Linden Street.
This matter was discussed by the Mayor and Council.
Mervin Kipp appeared before the Mayor and Council and asked permission to move
the house at 209 X. Kimball to the 1200 Block on Arthur.Street.
The Mayor appointed the Road Committee, City Engineer and Chief of Police to take
care of this matter.
Mr.Stringfield and Mr. Leedy appepreft on behalf of the Soft Bell Club and asked
that the City pay for the lights.
Moved by Fenrich, Seconded by HQndford that tre City pay for the lights at the
Soft Pall Field. Motioncarried.
Moved by McD„nnel, seconded by Sandmeyer that the City continue with the , oft
Hall Field Project. Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the Council it was moved by
Fenrich, seconded by Stengel that Council adjourn. Motion c arried.

The City Council met on Call of the Mayor, with the Yayor Edgar L. Oakes presid-
On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present: Oscar Stengel, C. 0.
McDannel, W.D. Handford, G. P.T. Fenrich and M. S. Sandmeyer. Absent; W. E.Haboock.
The Mayor informed the Council t'1at the Meeting was called to take up new and
unfinished business.
Mr. Major Hudgins appeared before the Mayor and Council and requested the City
to form a Sewer District for a sewer from Ash Street to Linden Street.

The Mayor informed FTr. Hudgins that the Council would try and work out a plan
for this Sewer District,
The Mayor a ppointed the dater Committee to investigate the laying of a pipe line
to Mr. R1chy's property at 2701 College Avenue and report to the Council.
Mr."on Crooke appeared and requested that Second Street be opened between Blocks
76 and 84. This matter was referred to the Road Co mittee.
Mr. W.F. Pfander appeared and stated white tbp was growing in the street near hie
property. The Mayor appointed Councilmen McDannel.and Fenrich and the City Attorney to
investigate white toprowing in the City and r sport at the next meeting.
The Mayor appointed C. 0. MCD and the City Engineer on the Spray Committee.
The Mayor appointed Emmett Giddings as Dog Catcher.
Chief of Police, H.E.Felton reported to the Mayor and Council that he hdd two
extra men garding the Park.
