Section 1. That the Clerk of the City of Caldwell, Idaho is hereuy authorized
and directed tondvertlae for 'lids to be rec�':ved by the Council of the City of Caldwell,
Idajco, at the office of the city Clerk in the City Uall, until the 29t' ^ -., day of April,
1940, at 8;00 o'clock P.y., for the repair and construction of sidewalks according to Plan
# 3, of Ordinance '#189.
No proposal.or bid will be considered unless accompanied by a cerified check of a
Caldwell bank in favor of the City of Caldwell for Live percent (5 %) of the amount bid,
a s evidence of good f^.ith, to be forfeited if the successful bidder fails, neglects or
refuses to enter into a contract and provide a suitable 'bond for the fait_iful perforTMrance
of the work and protection of the labor and matnrial men in ease the contract is awarded i.
to him.
Said bond is to be for a sum equal to the total amount of the sl;seeessful bid.
The right is reserved to reject any and all bids or to let the work as a w;
or in part, as may appear to the best interest of the City.
No hart of the work can be sublet without the consent of the i'iayor and the City
Council.
A Yea and Nay vote was had thereon with the following result;

The City Council met pursunnt to a published notice, for the purpose of opening
the bids for sidewalk repair and construction, with the ?ayor Edgar L. Oakes, presiding.
On Poll Call the fallowing Councilmen answered present; W.F.Baacock, Oscar
Stengel, % %1 . Sandford, G. IT. Fenrich and T!.". °nndmeyor. Absent; C. o, ,1cDannel.
The Clerk informed the Mayor that no bids had been filed.
Whereuooa the following R was presented to the vayor and Council by
Councilman Sandmeyer, who moved the adoption thereof which notion was duly seconded by
Councilman -enrich.

Mr.C.D.Rush, Building Inspector Gave a report on the plumbing which A.F. Nagele
had installed.

The Ltayor informed these Gentlemen that the City could not authori e the re-
moval of a Cleon Sign without an a mendment to the Zoning ordinance.
