Walters appeared in behalf of some of the photographers of the City, stating that he had heard the Council were contemplating amending Ordinance N. 235, per- twining to the photographic business. He asked that the ordinance be not amended. The matter was discussed by the Council but no action was taken. It was voted upon motion of Parker that the City Clerk be instructed to have two hundred copies of Ordinance Nu. 255 printed for distribution amoung automobile owners of the City. The matter of the ditch on the east side of Kimball Avenue near the Gipson Fruit Tract was taken up. It was stated that the ditch in its present condition was a nuisance and dangerous to travelers. It was voted upon motion of Steunenberg that the matter be referred to the Street Committee and City Attorney fur attention and that they be empowered to take whatever steps that they thought fit and proper. It was voted upon motion of Harrington that Council adorn until Monday evening May 3rd., 1915,. at 7,30 o'clock. Attest: Acting Mayor. City cleft. Turner presiding, Councilmen Ackley, Adams, Boune, Harrington and Stsunenberg present, S. Ben Dunlap, Clerk, when the following business was transacted: The call fur the meeting was read as follows: To the Members of the City Council, Caldwell, Idaho. Gentlemen: Notice is hereby given to each of you that I, C. H. Turner, Mayor of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, pursuant to the power in me vested do hereby call a special meeting of the City Council to be held in the Ocuncil Chamber of said City on the evening of April 29th at 7:30 o'clock. Said meeting being called for the purpose of canvasaine the returns of the biennial City Election. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this Bath day of April, 1915. I I Attest: Signed, C. Cole being present, called attention to the fact that this would be a most opportune time , because of the recent rain, to drag the City Streets and they offered to co- operate with the Street Supervisor in making necessary arrangements for the work. The Street Commissioner was instructed to hire the necessary teams and to drag the streets where needed. The returns from the regular biennial City election, held April 27th., 1915, being all received, it was voted, on motion of Ackley, that the Cuuncil proceed to canvass the returns. Ben Dunlap for City Clerk and Ex- officio Police Judge, Ethelwyn Fortner for City Treasurer, Guy C. We Gee fur City Engineer, James A. Dement Jr. and Fred L. Lilly for Councilmen First Ward, James -H. Forbes and Herbert H. Hayman for Councilmen Second Ward and Orville R. Ackley and Fred N. Harrington for Councilmen Third Ward, each received a pruality of the votes cast. A motion was made by Boone, that Fred C. Boyes be and is hereby declared elected Mayor; S. Ben Dunlap, City Clerk and Ex- officio Police Judge; Ethelwyn Fortner, City Treasureri Ouy C. Me Gee, City Engineer; James A. Dement Jr. and Fred L. Lilly for Councilmen First Ward; James H. Forbes and Herbert H. Hayman for Councilmen Second Ward and Orville R. Ackley and Fred H. Harrington for Councilmen Third Ward, each and every one for a term of two years and the City Clerk be instructed to issue to each a certificate of election signed by the Mayor and with the corporate seal attached. The roll being called on the motion the vote resulted: Ayes- Ackley, Adams, Boone, Harrington and Steunenberg -5 Nayea -Nuns Absent- Parker -1. 3o the motion prevailed. Council meet in regular seseion, pursuant to adornment, with Mayor C. H. Turner, presiding, Councilmen C. Q. Adams, Ernest Boone, W. E. Parker and Juhn Steunenberg, present, S. Ben Dunlap, Clerk, when the following business was traneacteds The minutes of the sesaiune held during the month of April, 1915, were read and It was voted upon motion of Parker that the same be approved. Councilmen 0. R. Ackley and F. N. Harrington arrived during the reading of the minutes.
