The I.4a.yor directed the Clerk to call the Roll with the following result: Those voting in the affirmative were : Sandmeyer, Keister, Bales, Johnston, Dickens and Vassar. Those voting in the negative, None. Absent and not voting, None. The Mayor, thereupon, declared the proposed Ordinanoe had passed, and, in open session of the Council, signed and approved said proposed Ordinance, and the Clerk signed and attested the same which beoame ordinance No. 5q. The Mayor directed the Clerk to make the proper entry of the same and to cause Ordinance No. 5 00 to be published in the Caldwell News- Tribune, official newspaper of the City of Caldwell. The Mayor appointed. W. H. Howard as Speoia� Policemen to have charge of Curtis Park. His salary to be the privilege of living in the Park Moved by Senndmeyer and seconded by Dickens that the above appointment be confirmed On Roll Call, those voting in fagoe were; Sandmeyer, Keister, Bales, Johnston, Dickens and Vassar. Those opposed, None. Absent and not voting ,None. The appointment was , thus confirmed. No further business appearing, it was moved by Dickens and seconded by Bales that this Council stand adjourned , upon call of the Mayor. The City Council met in the Council Room of the City Hall, on call o.f the Mayor, with the Mayor, Fred L. Lilly, presiding. On Roll Call, the following Councilmen answered present: M. S. Sandmeyer, A. G. Keister, C. E. Bales, C. M. Johnston, Joe DPoekene_ and E. L. Vassar. The Mayor stated that the object of the 'meeting was to open the bide for oiling Local Improvement Districts No. 12 and 13. The following bide were then-`opened and read:. Name of Bidder. Yd, or $ 1,440.00 from their bid on Schedule A and Schedule B, making their total bid $ 18,000.00 for the completed work under Schedule A and Schedule B. WHEREAS, AT A DULY CONVENED MEETING OF THE City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idahc held on the 5th day of April, 1.932, the Clerk of said City was authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the surface oiling by turnover method of graveled streets in Local Improvement Districts Numbers 12 and 13, in said City, in the manner provided by ordin =noeE Numbers 484 and 487, according to the plans and specications on file in the office of the City Clerk, said bids to be received at the office of said City Clerk until the 25th day o of April, 1932, at 5:00 P. M. , and WHEREAS, the said City Council having fixed the 25th day of April, 1932, at 8 :00 P. k as the time for the consideration of said bids; and a.moti having been duly passeed by the said council authorizing the opening of all bids on file; and" WHEREAS, Morrison- Knudsen Company, of Boise, Idaho, have submitted a bid for the oil of said streets, for the sum of Nineteen Thousand�Four Hundred Forty Dollars ( 19,440.00) and said bid being : the lowest- and best. bid received by said Council; and have agreed to I rebate to said C1'ty the sum of two cents ( ,1.02) per souere yard making a total bid of Eighteen Thousand Dollars ( $ 1 and h 1 9HYREAS,there is attached to said bid and to the plans and specifications a form of contract which provides for the oiling of said streets; and it is believed that it is for the best interest of this municipality that such contract be executed forthwith; now,theref. HE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho: Section 1, That the bid of Morrison- Knudsen Company for the surface oiling by turnov, method of all those streets described in Local Improvement Districts Numbers 12 and 17. in the City of Caldwell Idaho, in the manner provided for by Ordinances Numbers 494 and 487, and the plans and specifications on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, for the sgm of Eighteen Thousand Dollars ($ 18,000.00), is hereby declared to be the lowest and, beet bid for the o &iliag Of said streets. 9ectionP-. That the contract for the oiling of said streets in Local Improvement Districts, in the manner above mention is hereby awarded to - I!Orrison- Knudsen Company, of Oise, Idaho, for the sum of 0 1£5,000.00 according to the proposal and the spproved n_lans and specifications therefor on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city. Section 3. That the Mayor of the City of Caldwell, Idaho,is hereby authorized and trected,, in his official ca 'to execute the contract above described, with Morrison - nudsen Company, and the City Clerk is authorized and directed to attest the execution they nd to of thereto 'the corporate eea.l of this municipality. And when said contract has een thus executed by Morrison- Knudsen Company, the Clerk of said City is hereby directed to file said contract as a part of the records of his office.
