The Council met in conformity to adjournment of April 4th, with the Mayor Fred
L. Lilly presiding. ,
Those present: M. S. Sandmeyer, A. G. Xeieter, 0. E. Sales, Joe Dickens, C. X
Johnston and E., L. Vassar.
The object of the meeting was to meet a representative from the Morrison
Xnudsen Co to go over the matter of the Oiling of L. I. D. Noe. 13 amd 1$.

A Resolution 2 presented. by Sandmeyer and seconded by Vassar directing the
City Engineer to call for bids for Oiling Local Improvement Districts Nos. 12 and 13.
Those voting in favor were: Sandmeyer, Keister, Bales, Vassar, Dickens and
Johnston. Those opposed, None. Absent and not voting, None.
Moved by Bales and seconded by Johnston that this Council stand, adjourned

The meeting of the City Council met at the call of the Mayor for the final'coneid-
eration of the Report of the Zoning Commission an d any other business that might 'come
beforP,the Council. !Inyor Fred L. Lilly, presiding.
On Roll Call, the following Councilmen answered present: It. S. Sandmeyer, A. G.
Keister, C. E. 9ele.s, C. W. Johnston, Joe Dickens and E. L. Vassar.
The Clerk, read the sntire proposed Zoning Ordinance, paragraph by par'egfaph, and

the Mayor asked if�ny one present had any thing to say, any suggestions or any n_uestione
relating to the or Ordinance.
A number, of the people in the audience discussed the matter and asked a'number
of q»estions, but no serious objections were offered. And after a thorough discussion of
the proposed Ordinance by the Council, It was moved by Vassar and seconded, by Dickens
that the Rules requiring the reading of a gill on three separate days be suer ended and
that the proposed Ordinance be read the second time by title and the third tim? ih full,
section by section, end pla,cerl on its final reading for passage. The Mayor directed the

Clerk to call the Aoll on the motion with the following reanits: Those voting in the af-

firmative wage; Sandmeyer, Keister, Baled, Johnston, Dickens and Vassar- Those voting in
the negative, None.. .kbaent and not voting, More. The Navor then declared the motion had
carried by the necessary three - fourth majority, and directed the Clerk to read the nro-
posed Ordinance the second time by title, which was done. It was then moved. by Vsssnr
and seconded by Sandmeyer that the third and final rending of the proposed Ordinance

be dispensed and the Ordinance placed on its final passage. Motion Carried.
The question being, 41 Shall the proposed Ordinance RX.paas? ". The Mb yor directed'
the Clerk to call the Roll with the following result; Those voting in the affirmative

were : Sandmeyer, Keister, Bales, Johnston, Dickens and Vassar. Those voting in the
negative, None. Absent and not voting, None. The Mayor, thereupon, declared the proposed
Ordinance had passed, and, in open session of the Council, signed and approved said
proposed Ordinance, and the Clerk signed and attested. the same which became Ordinance
No. 50�. The Mayor directed the Clerk to make the proper entry of the same and to
cause Ordinance No. 5 00 to be published in the Caldwell News- Trtbune, : the official
newspaper of the City of Caldwell.
The Mayor appointed W. H. Howard as Speola� Policeman to have charge of Curtis
Park, Ells salary to be the privilege of living in the Park
Moved by Sandmeyer and seconded by Dickens that the above appointment be confirmed
On Roll Call, those voting in fagoe were; Sandmeyer, Keister, Bales, Johnston, Dickens
and Vassar. Those opposed, None. Absent and not voting ,None. The appointment was , thus
confirmed.
No further business appearing, it was moved by Dickens and seconded by Bales
that this Council stand adjourned upon call of the Mayor.

The City Council met in the Council Room of the City Hall, on call of the Mayor,
with the Mayor, Fred L. Lilly, presiding.
On Roll Call, the following Councilmen answered present: M. S. Sandmeyer, A. 0.
Keister, C. E. Bales, C. M. Johnston, Joe D$ckens.and E. L. Vassar.
The Mayor stated that the object of the meeting was to open the bids for oiling
Local Improvement Districts No. 12 and 13.

After a thorough discussion of the above bids, it was moved by Sandmeyer and seconded
by Dickens that we XXXXIIK reject all bids except the one made, by Morrison- Knudsen Co, and
that we take the Morrison - Knudsen Co.'s bid under advisement. L " "otion Carried.

L. W. Caldwell apneared cad asked the Council to grade the street in front of his
place. The matter was left with the Road Committee.
Mr. Butler, representing the Morrison - Knudsen Co, was called in and explained the
Companyls bid., and agreed �n behalf of his Company, to deduct 2 cents per Ou,. Yd. or
1,440.00 from their bid on Schedule A and Schedule p, making their total bid $ 16,000.00
for the completed work under Schedule A and Schedule B.
