The matter of taking over that part of the irrigation system situated within the City limits was again taken up and discussed. The Mayor suggested that the business men of this City be invited to be present and present their views on the matter at the next meeting. It was voted upon motion of Adams that the City Engineer be instructed to gather data on the propusition and to present the same to the City Council at the next meeting. It was voted upon motion of Adams that Council adjorn until Monday evening April 12th., 1915, at 7 :30 a'clock. Attest: 1 Mayo r . Cit Clerk. Cuuncil Chamber, City of Caldwell, Idaho, April 12th., 1915. Council meet in regular session pursuant to adjornment with President of the Council W. E. Parker presiding, Councilmen Ackley, Adama, Harrington and Steunenberg present, S. Ben Dunlap Clerk, when the following business was transacted: Acting Mayor W. E. Parker vacated the chair to Councilman 0. H. Ackley. Bill No. 22, by Adams, entitled, "An ordinance vacating, abandoning and dis- continuing the sidewalk along Albany Street where it abuts upon the lute numbered from seven to twelve inclusive of the block ninety three of the City of caidwell, Idaho, and giving permission to the Caldwell Milling and Evevator Company to erect such building or buildings thereon as it may desire to build ", was read for the second time. Bill No. 23, by Parker, entitled, "An ordinance defining and regulating second hand dealers, prohibiting them from purchasing goods from minors under the age of eighteen years, and requiring them to keep a recurd of every item of goods purchased; providing a penalty for the violation of this ordinance ", was read for the second time. A motion was made by Parker that the rules be suspended and that the reeding on three separate days be dispensed with and that Bill No. 23 be read the third time in full and placed on its final passage. The roll being called on the motion the vote resulted: Ayes- Ackley, Adams, Harrington, Parker, Steunenberg -5 Nayee -None Absent- Boone -1. So the motion prevailed. L Bill No. 24, by Harrington, entitled, "An ordinance repealing ordinance numbered 259, entitled, "An ordinance requiring the muzzling of all dogs within the City of Caldwell, and providing a penalty for the violation thereof ", was read for the first ( time. A motion was made by Harrington that the rules be suspended and that the reading on three separate days be dispensed with and that Bill No. 24 be read the second time by title and the third time in full and placed on its final passage. The roll being called on the motion the vote resulted: Ayes- Ackley, Adame, garrington,Parker, Steunenberg-6 Nayes -None Absent- Boone -1. So the motion prevailed. Bill No. 24 read the second time by title. Bill No. 24 read the third time in full and placed on its final passage. On the question shall bill No. 24•pass? The roll being called the vote resulted; F Ayes- Ackley, Adams, Harrington, Parker, Steunenberg -5 Nayes -None Absent- Boone -1. So Bill No. 24 passed becoming ordinance No. 254. Bill No. 25, by Ackley, entitled, "An ordinance providing for the regulation of traffic on the Streets, Avenues, Alleye and public places of the City of Caldwell, Canyon County, Idaho; Providing penalties for the violation thereof; And repealing Ordinances numbered 124, 196 and 198 and all Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith ", was read for the first time. A motion was made by Parker that the rules be suspended and that the reading on three separate days be dispensed with and that Bill No. 25 be read the second time by title and the third time in full and placed on its final passage. The roll being called L_ an the motion the vote resulteda Ayes- Ackley, Adams, Harrington, Parker, Steunenberg -5 Nayes -None Absent- Boone -1. So the motion prevailed. The roll being called the vote resulteda Ayes- Ackley, Adams, Harrington, Parker, Steunenberg -5 Nayes -None Absent- Boone -1. So Bill No. 25 passed becoming Oddinance No. 255. 521 Mr. T. A. Walters appeared in behalf of some of the photographers of the City, stating that he had hoard the Council were contemplating amending Ordinance N. 235, per- taining to the photographic business. He asked that the ordinance be not amended. The matter was discussed by the Council but no action was taken. It was voted upon motion of Parker that the City Clerk be instructed to have two hundred Copies of Ordinance No. 255 printed for distribution amoung automobile owners of the City. The matter of the ditch on the east side of Kimball Avenue near the Gipson Fruit Tract was taken up. It was stated that the ditch in its present condition was a nuisance and dangerous to travelers. It was voted upon motion of Steunenberg that the matter be referred to the Street Committee and City Attorney far attention and that they be empowered to take whatever steps that they thought fit and proper. It was voted upon motion of Harrington that Council adjorn until Monday evening - May 3rd.,.1915,at 7130 o'clock. Attest: Acting Mayor. City cleft. Turner presiding, Councilmen Ackley, Adams, Boone, Harrington and Steunenberg present, S. Ben Dunlap, Clerk, when the following business was transacted: The call for the meeting was read as follows; To the Members of the City Council, Caldwell, Idaho. Gentlemen: Notice is hereby given to each of you that I, C. H. Turner, Mayor of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, pursuant to the power in me vested do hereby call a special meeting of the City Council to be held in the Council Chamber of said City on the evening of April 29th at 7030 o'clock. Said meeting being Called for the purpose of canvassing the returns of the biennial City Election.
