The following resolution was introduced by Farrar;
Resolved That the City Clark is hereby difacted to have published in the
Caldwell Tribune for four consecutive issues the following notices
NOTICE OF SALF. OF CITY BONDS.
Notice is hereby given by the Mayor and City Council of the City of
Caldwell, Idaho, that the said Mayor and Council intend to issue m negotiate and sell
negotiable coupon bonds of said city to the amount of $26,059.78 for the purpose of
grading and paving all those parts of streets and alleys within,Local Improvement
District No, 1, known as cross streets and intersections. Said bonds are to be
issued in denominations of ,4J 1,000.00 as near as practicable. They shall be known as
Municipal Paving Coupon Bonds of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, Series of 1909, and
shall be numbered consecutively from one to twenty -sehen inclusive. Each of said
bonds shall bear interest at the rate of five per cent per annum, payable semi- annually
on the first days of January and July of each year, and both the principal and the
interes., shall be payable at the office of the City Treasurer of the City of Caldwell,
or at the office of the Chase National Bank, in the Coty of New Yotr, State of New
York, at the option of the holder thereof. Each bond shall be payable within twenty
years from the date of its issuanee, and shall be redeemable at any time after the
expiration of tan years from the date of Its Issuance and in the order in which it
is numbered. The nids for the purchase of said bonds must be sealed and addressed to
the Mayotr and Council of Caldwell, Idaho, and filed with the City Clerk. Bids will
be received until 12 o'clock, noon of Monday May 16, 1910. Said bids will be
opened by the Mayor and Council of the said city on Monday, May le, 1910, at 8 o'clock
p, m. at the Clty Hall of Caldwell, Idaho.

ordinances and resolutions of said city.

NOTICE OF SALT OF CITY BONDS.
Notice is hereby given by the Mayor and ratty Counnil the the City of
Caldwell. Idaho, that the said Mayor and Council intend to issue , negotiate and sell
the negotiable coupon bonds of the said city to the amount of $ for the
purpose of funding the outstanding warrant indebtedness of said city. Said bonds
are to be issued in denominations of ° 1,000.00 each, and will bear interest at the rate

July of each gear, at the office of the City Treasurer of the City of Caldwell, Idaho,
or the Chase National Bank of New 'fork City, State of New York, at the option of the

Ayes -- Clark, Devers, Farrar, Gartin, Harris, Paynter - -8.
Nays and Absent - -0. So the resolution passed.

H. D. Baltchley appears and askei-that the sidewalk to be built abound the
College Campus be excepted from the sidewalk bids and that the City Fncineer,be ordered
to Bet the grade stakes. He also requested that the city extend a six incline from
Sixteenth to Twentieth Avenuerto enable the College to teat its plumbing, The matter
of extending the pipe line was referred to the Water Committee and City Engineer,
The plat of Murrays Addition to the Citj of Caldwell was presented, and a ow
motion was made by Paynter and that the plat of the Murray Addition be accepted.

Representative of the Boise Vitrified Cement Pipe Co, appeared before the
City Council offering cement pipe in car load lots f, o. b. Caldwell, at the following
rate8i 12 Inch pipe, 391 per foot; 18 inch pipe, 58k per foot, and 24 inch pipe,
$1.18 per foot.
Communication pespecting the disposition of $220,000.00 of Special Improvement
bonds was received from the warren Construction Co., and filed.
H. A. GriPflths appeared 'un behalf of the owners of the Golden Gate AdditYOn
stating that a good road could be put in from the Flour Mill to Canyon Hill along the
Interurban right -of -way and agreeing to stand half the expenselprovided the city
improved the same for travel. The matter was referred to the Street Committee.
The Mayor was asked to take up with tke Boise & Interurban Railway Co. the
matter of placing the electric poles on a line on Cleveland Boulevard.
J. E. Riddle asked that his property on Washington Heights be excepted from
the sidewalks bids, as he had let the contract to Mr. Crouse.
Petition of George Milliner, et al, praying the consent of the City of Caldwell
to the vacating the plat of the Seal's Addition to Caldwell was read and a motion was
made by Harris thatthe petition be granted and the plat declared vacated. The roll
being called oQ ✓ the motion, the vote resulted:
Ayes -- Clark, Devers, Farrar, Gartin, Harris, Paynter--6.
Kays and Absent - -0. So the motion prevailed,

A motion was made by Clark that Martha Gibbons be released from certain apecial
assessments now delinquent. The roll being called on the matter, the vote resulteds
Ayes -- Clark, Devers, Farrar, Gartin, Harris, Paynter - -6.
Plays and absent - -0. So the motion prevailed.
Mr. Warren of the Warren Construction Co. apreared and asked that the City
Council grant his company a reasonable rebate on his contract with the city for rock
from its rock quarry, the reason t;tYen being that it was too dangerous to life and
property for them to operate the city quarry. He stated that a reduction of S'300
or $400 en the contract woul•i be about right. A motioU was made by Clark that the
matter be referred to the Street Committee to repott next Monday night. The roll
being called on the motion, the vote resulteds

A motion was made by Farrar that the bid: of Calkind & Lesley be accepted,

Voted, on motion of Farrar, that the time for the opening of bids on the
Improvement and Rxtension of Water Works system be postponed until Monday May 9, 1910,
and that the City Clerk is hereby , directed to change the noticed to read accordingly.
311T No; 40, by Farrar, entitled, "An Ordinance vacating and discontinuing
a cartainportion of the alley between the Oregon Short Line Railroad track and Albany
Street, and granting to the Oregon Short Line Railroad Company, a corporation, the
right to build and rpaintain'a sidetrack on the alley so vacated," was read the first
time.
Voted, on motion of gartin, that the Vouncil adjourn until April 18, 1910,

with authority to properly advertise and not a date for the selling of all the City
