SPECIAL MEETING
April 8, 1988

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Cowles.

The Mayor requested that everyone stand for the Pledge of
Allegiance to the Flag.
The Roll of the City Council was called with the following
members present: Raymond, Winder, Jarboe, and Straight.
Absent: Houchins and Mallea.
(APPOINTMENT OF FIRE CHIEF FOR THE CITY OF CALDWELL)
The Mayor stated that the reason for the Special Meeting
being called was for the purpose of appointing a Fire Chief
for the City of Caldwell. Mayor Cowles further commented
that the new Chief would talk to the Press after the
appointment was confirmed. There was only this one item on
the Agenda and he thanked the Council for meeting at this
time to consider his recommendation.
Mayor Cowles stated that he would like to present the name of
William Buchta to the City Council for the position of the
Caldwell Fire Chief. At this time, he would ask for support
by the City Council for his recommendation.
Councilman Raymond was recognized and stated that he would be
happy to MOVE that the City Council approve the appointment
of William Buchta as the Fire Chief for the City of Caldwell.
SECONDED by Winder.
Roll call vote. Those voting yes: Raymond, Winder, Jarboe,
and Straight. Those voting no: none. Absent and not voting:
Houchins and Mallea.
MOTION CARRIED
Mayor Cowles then presented Mr. Buchta to the audience as the
Fire Chief for the City of Caldwell.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at
12:05 p.m.
