COUNCIL CHAMBERS, , 1932
8:00 P. M
The Regular Monthly Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Rooms, with the
Mayor, Fred L. Lilly, presiding.
On Roll Call, the following Councilmen answered present:- M. S. Sandmeyer, A. G.
Keister, C. E. Bales, Joe Dickens, C. M. Johnston and E. L. Vassar.
The Minutes of March 7, March 21 and March 26 were read and approved as read.
Nellie P: Frost appeared and asked that the taxes on Lots 5 to 5, Fpoit'e Addition
be cancelled.
The Mayor appointed Dickens, Vassar and Sandmeyer a Committee to investigate the
above request report back to the Council.
L. H. Butland appeared and asked that the Judgment given to him some time ago by
the District Court be turned over to him. Mr. Butland was informed that there was no
funds to take care of this Judgment at this time, and further, that H. E. Wallace had
filed a Lien against this Judgment for one -half the amount, and so we could not do any
thing with the above request at this time.
The Clerk-read the bids for repairing sidewalks as called for by the -City Engineer,
H. C. Durham bid 75 cents per hour for use of mixer and one man.
E. J. Swan bid $ 1.00 per hour for mire® and man.
H. J. Me Neel bid 15 cents oer square foot for the 34,000 square Feet of sidewalk
22 oents square foot for the 300 square feet of cross walks or a toatal of
5,166 on the unit price, or $ 1;00 per hour with mixer and man .
Moved by- Sandmeyer and seconded by Dickens that all these bide be taken under
advisement for a -few days. Motion Carried.
Walter Griffithe anneared and again asked that the taxes on Lots 13 to 15, Block
18, Dorman's Addition be dancelled for the years 1929 and 1930.
Moved by Sandbaeyer and seconded by Vassar that a Committee of three be - appointed
to further investigate this request and report back to the next meeting of the Council.
Motion Carried..
The Mayor appointed Sandmeyer, Dickens and Hales as this Committee,, ,
The applications of 14. L. Householder, I. H. Waters, P. A. Martin and S. F. Bow
for renewal of their Pool Hall Licenses was read, and on motion made by Sandmeyer and
seconded by Keister that these renewals be granted, iPotion Carried.
The following Bills were read and on motion made by Bales and secondedby Vassar
that these Bills be allowed and Warrants be ordered drawn for the various amounts, all of
vhieh had been approved by the Chairman of the Finance Committee. Motion Carried.

The Council met in conformity to adjournment of April 4th. with the Mayor Fred

The object of the meeting was to meet a renresentative from the Morrison
Knudsen Co to go over the matter of the Oiling of L. I. D. Nos. 15 and 1�.

A Reaclution ,( presented by Sandmeyer and seconded by Vassar directing the
City Engineer to call for bids for Oiling Local Improvement Districts Nos. 12 and 13.
Those voting in favor were: Sandmeyer, Keister, Dales, Vassar, Dickens and
Johnston. Those_ apposed, None. Absent and not voting, None.
Moved by Bales and seconded by Johnston that this Council stand adjourned
on call of the Mayor. Motion Carried.

The meeting of the City Council met at the call of the Mayor for the final Consid-
eration of the Report of the Zoning Commission and any other business that might 'come
before, the Council. Me,yor Fred L. Lilly, presiding.

Keister, C. E. Be.les C. 11. Johnston, Joe Dickens and E. L. Vassar,
The Clerk, read the entire proposed Zoning Ordinance, naregraph by paregraph, an d
the Mayor asked if ny one present had any thing to say, any suggestions or any questions
relating to the proposed Ordinance.
A number of the people in the audience discussed the matter and asked a'number
Of questions, but no Serious objections were offered. And after a thorough discussion of
the proposed. Ordinance by the Council, It was moved by Vassar and seconded by Dickens
that the Rules requiring the reading of a. gill on three separate days be suspended and
that the proposed Ordinance be read the second time by title and the third time ih full,

Y r p.a -oed on its final reading for passage, The Mayor directed the
Clerk to call the Roll on the motion with the following results: Those voting in the af-
firmmtive wake; Sandmeyer, Keister, Baled, Johnston, Dickens end Vassar. Those voting in
the negative, None,. Absent and not voting, None. The Mayor then declared the motion had

carried by the necessary three - fourth majority, and directed the Clerk
to read the nro-
posed Ordinance the second time by title, which was done. It was then moved by Vesaar
a nd seconded by Sandmeyer that the third and final reading of the proposed Ordinance
