Council met in regular session with Mayor Dunlap presiding, and Councilmen Davis, Dutton, Hoffman, Jackson, MoOonnel and Rumford, present. Minutes of last meetings read and approved. Dr. J. 1 9. Gue, City Health Officer being present, and reported that the health conditions of the City being very a atisfactory, and that there had been no new cases of Infantile Paralysis in the Wilder section developed. The bids for furnishing lumber to construct a bridge sorose Indian Creek on Sixth Street were opened by the Clerk, being as follows: Boise- Payette Lumber Co., ;$2,330.55 Irrigators Lumber Co., 2,328.00 Caldwell Lumber & Coal Co., 2,328.00 Gem State Lumber Oo., 2,298.40 It was voted on motion of McOonnel, seconded by Rumford, that the bid of the Gem State Lumber Co. to furnish lumber and material in the sum of N2,298.40 be accepted. Theirs being the lowest bid. The Clerk was instructed to write a letter of gppreoiation to C. C. Yinvent, _Professor of' Horticulture, University of Idaho, thanking him for the excellent landscape plane for Membrial Park. Application for Pool Hall License for the quarter ending June 30, 1928, from I. H. Waters,'Geo. Franklin and G. S. Plead, was read. Each_applioation was accompanied by a check for $25.00, license fee. It was voted on motion of Hoffman, seconded by Moconnel, that the license be granted. It was voted on motion of Jackson, seconded by Numford, that the city construct a drain pipe across Fillmore Street on Twelfth' Street,tand across Sixteenth Street one block south of Fillmore Street, the same to connect up with a Drain Ditch constructed by Independe4t School District No. 28. Tha'matte'r =of the city laying an underground irrigation pipe line on Sixt4ah:16h Street from the Alley to Dearborn Street, came to the attention of the Council. The same was referred to the Irrigation Committee. Councilman Mumford called attention to opening Nineteenth between Everett and Fillmore Streets. The matter was referred to Dutton to investigate and report. Davis and Mumford, absent. The Mayor instructed the Cleric to open bids for the construction of the Bridge across Indiun Creek on Sixth (6) Street. Thdre being but one bid, that of J. H. Forbes, construction price, "v1,912.60. It was voted on motion of MaGonnel, seconded by Hoffman, that the bid be placed on file and considered at next meeting. The clerk read the monthly reports of the City Clerk, Treasurer, Sexton, Fire Chief and Gasoline Record, and the same ordered placed on file. Nichol, in behalf of the Caldwell Realty Board, appeared before the Council asY.ing that some arrangements be made whereby a small store could be established in the Tourist Park, carrying grocerise and lunch supplies for the accomodation of Tourist and incidentally literattre advertising Caldwell and vacinity. It was suggested that the matter be taken up *lth the Retail Llerchants Association to get their attitude in the matter.
