IV Mayor. City C1 �ari� COUNCIL CFAIBERS. ?ARCH 09th„ 1938. 8 :00 P. M. A Called Meeting of the Council was held at 8;00 P, T ?, with Mayor, W. R. Holl- ingsworth, presiding. On Roll Call the following Councilman answered present, Fdgar L. Oakes, F. D. Mumford, W. S. Boynton, W. E. Babcock, G. M. Fenrich and Norvil T. Rinds. Absent: None. Mr. Stewart Maxey appeared in behalf of 1 1 I. E. Collins asking for Eeer and Card Room License and Mr. Collins 'I present he gave his views. Mr. Hollingsworth advised these gentlemen that the Council would take this matter under advisement. TTr. Finley of the Finley Poster Advertising Co., appeared in regards to a bill - .bo-rd at corner of Ninth and Blaine which was left up to the Road Cormittee and City Eng- ineer. Par. Tatum appeared in regards to cancellation of doll- ncuent taxes on Lots 1 -2 -3 and 4, Block 194 Gonndu Addition. After some discussion Mr. ? Hollingsworth informed Mr. Tatum that the Council would take this under advisement. Mr. Will Milliner was present a nd asl -ed for a Card License at his olpce of business on North Kimball. Ur. Hollingsworth ad ',7r. rilliner that the Council would take this under advisement, P,4r.A.F, Sutton and Mr. Kimbrough appeared in behalf of the Retail Merchants Association concerning the peddlers n 1sanes. After a lengthy discussion the Mayor in- formed Mr. Sutton that if the Retail Mlerchents Association vrould apnoint a "mmittee to work with the City Attorney they would try and work out some plan.. TArs. Young gave a report on the conditions and progress of the Soup Kitchen. Mr. Purser 3 a peared in regards to the clos9ng at 12 o'clock P. M., as re- quired by the Beer Ordinance and the Vayor informed 1 :4r. Frost that he would have to abide b-7 the O rdinance. The matter of License for 1 :rr. Collins and ' "r. T.Tilliner was taken up again and It was moved by Councilman Oakes, seconded by Councilman Boynton that these Licenses be refused. On Roll Call the vote was as follows- Yea; Oakes, liunford, Boynton, Babcock, Fenrich and Hinds. Nay: None. Absent and not voting: None. After some discussion the following Preamble and = ,Resolution was presented by Councilman Mumford, who moved the adoption thereof which motion was duly seconded by Counc man Rinds. RESOLUTION. By Mumf ord. 1 Contrary to the representation made by Mr. Walter Griffith, acting for for the Idd o Pleat Producers Association to the fact that he had procured all of the 32 Rights- ofm., - W..ey for the sewer line b etween Albany and Belmont Streets extending from Boise Avenue to Boise River, A Right -of -Way had not been soured across Mr. Boothts property and Mr. Allen's property and it eras necessary that the said Right -of -Vay be secured and settled for before the sewer could be completed, and, WHEREAS, the Mtayor made arrangements for the securing of said Right -of -Way and the settlement of the same at the expense of the City of 125 and an equal expense to the Idaho Meat Producers Association, and, WHEREAS, IV, P. A, Project for the constructing of said sewer line is to L close at an early dnte and if it should be closed thcre wo'.,1d be several hundred dollars ad- ditional expense to the City in completing the construction of said sewer which would otherwise be financed by the W. P. A. Project. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that theaction of the Mayor in settling of the said Right -of Ways be and the same is hereby approved. A Yea and Nay vote was had thereon with the following result: Yea; Oakes, I::umford, Boynton, Fenrich, Babcock and Hinds, Nay: None. Absent and not voting: None. Whereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried and the preamb16 and resolution duly adopted. The matter of tax cancellation for Mr, Tatum was taken up again and the Council decided not to cancel until Mr. Tatum was ready to build, Mr. Groome brought up the subject of his appearance in. answer to suits for quieting title and it was moved by Oakes, seconded by Mumford that Mr. Croome look into these different actions and appear in behalf of the Cith when necessary. Motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Council it visa moved by Oakes, seconded by Mumford that Council adjourn. MvMotioncoarried. P_ Aetind City Clerk. COT SCIL CH "BEES APRIL 8th., 1938. 6:00 P, M. The Regular Monthly Meeting of the City Council not in the Council Rooms of the City Hall with the Mayor, W.h, Hollingsworth, presiding. On noll Call the followin; Councilmen answered present: F. v. Mumford, G. M. Fenrich, W.S. Boynton, W.E.Babcock, and Norvil T, Hinds, Absent: Edger L. Oakes. The Minutes of March 7th., and 29th., were read and approved as read. Mr. Bunt being present brouFbt�up an old :natter of piping irrigation water along his property. Mr, Hollingsworth .advised Mr. Bunt that the StreatCbmmittee and the City Enginee would look over this situation. Mr. Don Spaugy of Boise explainted the workings of the IV. P. A. Recreational project and Wd Geo Stovel explained the facilities at the College of Idaho.
