T.A.17a tern appeared before the Council and presented a petition, signed by 262 Taxpayers to
Council, w ich petition reads as follows:
E We, th undersigned property owners within the City of Caldwell, respectfully request of the
City Couno 1, that no represantative of any type of pavement and construction considered standard
and accept d by the U.S.Hureau of Public Roads,be excluded Brom the field of competition, and that
Portland C ment Concrete and Bituminous concrete types be asked for and considered, and that the
lowast and beat bidder be awarded the contract.' No action was ta':en on the petition.
It was rotedon motion of Conley, seconded by Dutton, that the Cou,oil adjourn to March 24th,
1926 at 1: 0 !'.M.

Ths Coumeil met in regular session, pursuant to adjournment at 1 :30 P.M. 14 aro7# 24th, 1926
in the Cou oil Chambers with Mayor Zoley, presiding, Councilmen Conley, Dutton, Kimbrough, Mumford,
and Wheels , present, and absent.
It was voted on motion of 7 imbrough, seconded by Conley,that the Mayor and Council be
constitute a Committee of the Whole with power to act, when the bids on the 3.3 miles of paving
within the City of Caldwell, are opehed by the Commissioner of Public "forks at the Shffite House,

It was voted on motion of Wheeler, seconded by 1.1umford, that the Council adjourn to
March.27th at B P.M.

The C unai. met in regular session, pursuant to adjournment at 8 P.M. March 27th, 1926
with Mayor Kaley, presiding, Councilmen Conley, Dutton, Kimbrough, Rumford, McConnel, and Wheeler.

the Ciyy ol Caldwell to Olaf Nelson of Logan, Utah for the sum of'.188,412.42, providing the Mayor
and 9ounoi of the City of Celdwell,would concur in the a-ard. It was voted on motion of Kimbrough,
seconded ly Idumford, that the report be accepted.

TH E CALD; L SECTION OF "OLD OPMON TRAIL" DEDERAL AID PROJECT N0.86B, was presented, which resolut8
read as f llows:
ITHEI 50, heretofore the Commissioner of the Department of Public Works of the State of Idaho,

gave publ o notice that bids for the letting of a contract for the construction of pavement of
the Portly d Cement Concrete type on the Caldwell Section of "OLD OREGON TRAIL" Bederal Aid
Project Mo 86B would be opened at the office of said Commissioner at two o'clock P.M. on the
26th of Ma oh,1926; and,
WHEREAS upon the opening of said bids, Olaf 41son, of Logan, Utah, bid the sum of $88,412.42
for the eo struetionm of such pavingip and was the lowest and best bidder;and,
WHEREAS the Commissioner of the Departm t of Public Works of the State of Idaho, awarded the
contract f r the construction of such pavent to said Olaf Nelson, subject to the concurring in
said award by the City Council of the Cite of �;aldwell,Idaho
