A C&II YAeting of the City Council met in the Council R000m of the City Hall wth
the Layor Emery L. Vassar presiding.
On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present: Edger L. 'Oakes, W. S.
Boynton, -C. E. Hales, G. M. Fenrich, W. R. Hollingsworth and G. W. Montgomery,

Mr. J. H. Lowell appeared before the , _ouncil and started that the College was
satisfied with the three months water average.
i The Water Committee's Report on s new rate for Institutions not supported by tax-
ation or operated for a profit was as follows: 10¢ a hundred cubic foot for the first
15,666, cubic feet.:and to continue with the old rate from thereon. The Iwayor requested the

City Attorney to make a report on this.
The Mayor appointed Mir. ITicock as care -taker of the dump yard beginning March
15th. The salary to be $7.50 for March, F }15. ®0 for April, �15.00. for 'I;ay'and $10.00 per
]Month ros the balance of the year.
Mr. Earl Brooks was present and st:ted that the Rod and Gun Club would pay for
the electricity they used while shooting in the -asembly Room.
Chief Doyle Fender reported the cost of rewiring the charger would be $16.00.
The Mayor requested the City Hall Committee to investigate.
A'letter was read from L. R. Deal Stating several persons were operating taxis
without license. The IJayor referred this matter to the City - ,ttorney.
Councilman Oakes presented a letter from-I:ardie I,anufacturing Co., regarding a

spray machine. Motion by Montgomery, seconded by Boynton that Hollingsworth be placed on
the sprayXWzb&gW committee and that the committee be given power to act. Motion carried.

6iotion by Montgomery, seconded by Hollingsworth that the City Clerk be

authorized to have a Notice published in the Vews- Tribune requiring all persons selling
milk or dairy products to purchase a license in accordance with Ordinance 390, Motion f
carried.
The City Engineer, tr. McCOnnel made a very interesting talk qu his trip to the
Convention at Portland.
There being no further business to come before the Council, it was, on motion
duly seconded and carried, declared adjourned.

A Call Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Room of the City Hall,
i with the Mayor, Emery L. Vassar presiding.
On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present: C. E. Bales, G. W.
Montgomery, W. R. Hollingsworth and G. M. Fenrich. Absent: E. L. Oakes and W. S. Boynton.
Councilman Montgomery presented the folloving Resolution and moved its adoption.
RESOLVED: That a Planing Board be appointed by the Mayor in conformity with the

plans and purposes of the P. W. A. State and Regional Planing Boards of the Northwest
Region; and notify the chairman of the State and Regional Planing Boards; and further

that an application be filed by the Mayor with the C. W. A. for funds to ca--ry on the work
of planing. Seconded by Fenrich.

On Roll Call the following Councilmen voted in favor of the motion: Bales,
Montgomery, Hollingsworth and Fenricho absent and not voting Oakes, and Boynton.
No further business appearing at this time, the Cotxncil stood ad3otsned on call
of the Mayor.

The Regular ].onthly Eeeting of the City Council met in the Council Room of the
�I City Hall, with the Layer, Emery L. Vassar presiding.
On Roll Call, the following Councilmen answered present: Edgar L. Oakes, 7. S.
Boynton, C. E. Bales, G. W. Montgomery, G. M. ^enrich and 17. R. Hollingsworth.
The Minutes of .,'arch 5th, 12t1, and 16th, were read and approved as read.
Vern Howard presented a petition for residents of Wountain View addition asking
that Oak and 1:aple streets, between Lontana and College .,veaues,be opened to the public.
Councilman Bales suggested that the Road Committee ciake a report on the cost of opening
these streets.
Mr. Oscar Baum appeared before the Council and stated that the City had ddstroye
his ditch and asked to have it replaced. The ?. ;ayor requested the City .,ttorney, City
Engineer and Irrigation Com ittee to make a report on this.
The Clerk read an ap:lira tion for License to sell Beer from G. Munesada.
The application was referred to the City .,ttorney.
Two affidavits of Publication were read by the City Clerk.
,applications for Poo; Hall Licenses were read from C:eo Franklin and Curtis
Huston, P. A. Martin, I. H. waters, S. F. Bow and Lafe Murphy, the fee accompanying each
application.
Moved by Bales and seconded by Montgomery that these applications be granted.
Motion carried.

The City Clerk read a letter from Joseph Wood of Portland, Oregon regarding the
purchase of the Right of Way of the Caldwell Traction Company in Mountain View Addition.
Motion by Montgomery and seconded by Fenrich that the City Attorney be instructed
to get in touch with Mr. Good. Motion carried,
A letter wes read from Mr. L. O. Jones of the Public Utilities Commission.
j The Bills for March were read and on motion by Bales, seconded by Pontgcmery
I I that these bills be allowed and va rrants be ordered drawn for the various amounts all of
which had been approved by the Chairman of the Finance Committee. Motion carried.
