COUNOIL CHAMBERS CITY OF CALDWELL IDAMIO MAR 16, 192C
Council met in regular session pursuant to adjournment with Mayor

Ward presiding/ The following councilmen were present;
Diokems, Dunlap, Fouling Hayman Moore and Sutton.
ORDINANCE No 334 ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE AMENDING FIRE ORDINANCE No 329
was read the first time, motion made by Dunlap and seconded by Fouling that the
rules requiring the reading of an ordinance on three separate dates be suspensed
and that the ordinance be read the second time by title and the third time in
full and paload on its final passage, on the roll being oalled on the motion
the vote was;
Ayes, Dickens, Dunlap, Fouling Hayman Moore and Sutton.
Noyes None,
The clerk thereupon red the ordinance the second time by title and the
third time in full an8 the Mayor announced that the ordinance stood for its
final passage and stated the question shall ordinance No 334 pass? and on the roll
being called the vote was;
Ayes Dickens Dunlap, Fouling Hayman Moore and Sutton.
Noyes None.
The Mayor announced that the motion had carried by more than the necess-
ary three fourths signed and approved some and the olerk was.instruoted to
make proper entry and cause same to be published in the Caldwell News the
Official News paper of the City of Caldwell, Idaho.

John Smead W G Coweda and W H Blunt representing the Development League
of th Commercial Club announced that they were authorized to .give the sum of
$1600.00 tosard the Mitnioipal Rest room.
On motion Dunlap seoonded by Dickens the City Clark was instructed to
advertize for bide for the Municipal Rest Room to be opened Mar 29, 1920.
0 H Sovereign presented his resignation as Chief of The Fire Department
and on motion Dunlap seconded by Sutton eamw was accepted.
The Mayor announced the appointment of E M Corey se Chief and ffiarence
Beckstead Ray Beoketead and Ernest Pennington as Firemen and on motion Moore

seconded by Sutton same were confirmed.
The platt of Fair Oaks addition to Caldwell was presented and on
motion Hayman seconded by Sutton was accepted.
Ordinance No 336 was read the first time.
AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE INTENTION §J �# TO CREATE AND ESTABLISH
LOCAL STREET IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO 4 WITHIN THE CITY OF CALDWELL STATE OF IDAHO
FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING SUITABLE PAVEMENT. CURBS AND GUTTERS THEREIN.
Motion by Hayman seconded by Dickens jrhat the rules requiring the reading
of an ordinance on three separate dates be suspended and that the ordinance be
read the second time by title and the third time in full and paloed on its final
passage. on the roll being called on the motion the vote was;
Ayes. Dickens, Dunlap, Fouling, HaygLan and Moore
Absent Sutton.

The Mayor announced that the motion had carried by more than the necessary
t1tree fourths and the city clerk was instructed to make proper entry and cause same
be published in the Caldwell News the official DTewepaper Of the city of Caldwell.
Councilman Dunlap stated that the Sidewalk on Everett Street along the
Will Steunenberg property was in a bad state of repairs and the Street Committee
and Engineer were instructed to investigate.
The Chief of the Fire Department was authorized to get necessary
cards eto printed. `
Motion Hayman seconded by Dickens taht the Mayor and City Attosney
draft Ordinance covering building inspection.
Motion by Dunlap seconded by Moore that it is the seneen of the Council
thatit is for the beet interest of the City of '%aldwell that we do not
favor tae narrowing of Dearborn Street Adg or any part thereof.
The vote on the motion was as follows;
Ayes; Dickens, Dunlap, Fouling Hayman and Moore.
Absent Sutton.
Motion Fouling seconded Dunlap that the Council will very willingly
consider a petition if filed for the paving of a 40 ft surface on Deirborh Street
from 7, to 20, inclusive and all arose streets between Cleavelend and Deraborn.
The vote on the motion was as follows;
Ayes, Dickens, Dunlap, Fouling. Hayman and Moore.
Absent Sutton.
On motion Hayman seconded by Moore the Street Committee and City Engineer
were instruoted'to investigate the repairs being made by the Traction Co
on Arthur and ihatraot the Company to oonform to Franchise.
On motion Dickens seconded by Fouling Council adjourn to Mar 29. 1920.
