Council Chamber, City of Caldwell, Idaho, March 15th., 1915.
Council meet in special session pursuant to call issued by the acting Mayor,
with W. B. Parker, President of the Council presiding, Councilmen Ackley, Adams,
Harrington and Steunenberg present, S. Ben Dunlap, Clerk, when the following business
was transacted:

To the Members of the City Council of the
City of Caldwell, Idaho.
Notice is hereby given to each of you that pursuant to the
power in me vested I have called a special meeting of the City
Council to be held in the Council chamber of the said City on the
evening of March 15th., 1915, at 7130 o'clock, for the purpose of
considering the feasibility of extending the water works system
to Mountain View Addition to the City of Caldwell, Idaho.

Councilman Harrington reported for the committee appointed to investigate the
proposition of extending the water works system to Mountain View Addition, stating
that the committee had made a through investigation of the matter and that they
recommended that the extension be made, provided that a sufficient number of property
owners 'would contract to use the water in order to make the propusition a paying one.
He stated that the estimated coat of the extension was aXproximately $1,000.00

It was voted upon motion of Steunenberg that the report be adopted and that the
Superintendent of water works be authorized and instructed to put in the extension,
provided that nine property owners along the proposed line of extension sign contracts
to use the city water.

It was voted upon motion of Steunenberg that the City Clerk be instructed to draft
contracts to be entered into by the City and the applicants for water along the
proposed extension, securing for the City assurance that the applicants would use the
water in the event of its installation.
Mr. Alfred F. Stone, City Attorney stated that 'under a law recently passed by the
regislature, municipalities now had the authority and right to take over- irrigation
Rorke within the City limits. He stated that in his opinion the City of Caldwell could
advantageously control and operate that part of the Pioneer system lying within the
city limits, and he advised that the Council give the matter due consideration.
He was requested to gather as much - information and data as possible on the pro-
position and to present the same to the Council at the next meeting.
The following resolution was introduced by Councilman Steunenberg;
RESOLUTION
Be it resolved by the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell.
That hereafter for all work by the Sextion in caring fur cemetery lots a flat
charge of Four Dollars ($4.00) per lot be made and that the said sum be collected in
advance and before any work is done upon any lots.
It was voted upon motion of Ackley that the resolution be adopted.
Councilman Steunenberg then introduced the following resolution;
RESOLUTION
Be it resolved by the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwell.
Whereas the Ladies Forward Club of this City has contributed the sum of One
Hundred Dollars, for the purpose of beautifying the cemetery and in construction of a
rest room; and,
Whereas it is the desire of the City Council on behalf of the City to thank the
ladies of the Forward Club for their generosity;
NOW THEREFORE, Be resolved that the City Clerk be hereby instructed to convey
the thanks of this body to the Forward Club and the deep appreciation which Is felt by
all.
It was voted upon motion of Harrington that the resolution be adopted.
