COUNCIL CHAMBERS, JAARCH 12, 1934.

A Cali D"eeting of the City Council met in the Council R000m of the City Hall wth
the kayor Emery L. Vassar presiding.
On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present. Edgar I. *Oakes, W. S.
Boynton, C. E. Bales, G. M. Fenrich, W. R. Hollingsworth and G. W. Montgom.ry.
Mr. J. 1I. Lowell appeared before the Council and stated that the College was
satisfied with the three months water average.
The Jater Committee's Report on a new rate for Institutions not supported by tax-
ation or operated for a profit ras as follows: 100 a hundred cubic foot for the first
15,666, cubic feet and to continue with the old rate from thereon. The Mayor requested the
li
City Attorney to make a report on thin.
The Mayor appointed Mr. Hicoek as care -taker of the dump yard beginning March
15th. The salary to be :7.50 for March, X15.00 for April, $15.00-for $10.00 per
month,:for the balance of the year.
Mr. Earl Brooks was present and stated that the Rod and Gun Club would pay for
the electricity they used while shooting in the .assembly Room.
Chief Doyle Fender reported the cost of rewiring the charger would be $18.00.
The Mayor requested the City Hall Committee to investigate.
A':letter was read from L. R. Deal stating several persons were operating taxis
without license. The Mayor referred this matter to the City -ttorney.
Councilman Oakes presented a letter from•Nardie Manufacturing Co., regarding a
spray machine. Motion by Montgomery, seconded by Boynton that Hollingsworth be placed on
the spray committee and that the committee be given power to act. Motion carried.)
Votion by Montgomery, seconded by Hollingsworth that the City Clerk be
authorized to have a Notice published in the News- Tribune requiring all persons selling
milk or dairy products to purchase a license in accordance with Ordinance 390. Motion
carried.
The City Engineer, Mr. McConnel made a very interesting talk qn his trip to the
Convention at Portland.
There being no further business to come before the Council, it vras, on motion
duly seconded and carried, declared adjourned.

A Call Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Room of the City Hall,
with the Mayor, Emery L. Vassar presiding.
On Roll Call the following Councilmen answered present: C. E. Bales, G. W.
Montgomery, W. R. Hollingsworth and G. M. Fenrich. Absent: E. L. Oakes and W. S. Boynton.
Councilman Montgomery presented the following Resolution and moved its adoption.
RESOLVED: That e Planing Board be appointed by the Yayor in conformity with the
plans and purposes of the P. W. A. State and Regional Planing Boards of the Northwest
Region; and notify the chairman of the State and Regional Planing Boards; and further
that an application be filed by the Mayor with the C. W. A. for funds to ca-ry on the work
of planing. Seconded by Fenrich.
