Thereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried and the Resolution adopted. The Council met pursuant to call and acknowledgement of notice in the following forms CALL AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF NOTICE We, the undersigned .Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, do each ! hereby acknowledge notice of a special meeting of said City Council to be held at the Council Chambers in the City Hall-in the City of Caldwell, Idaho,at the hour of 5130 P. M. on the 9th, day of .March, 1951, for the transaction of all business in connection with the following objects Consideration of Resolution Amending Section 1 of a Resolution passed and eoproved by the Mayor and Council March 5, 1951, which abject i� was submitted to each of the undersigned in writing. Mayor. V Upon Roll Call the following Councilmen answered presents Wm Glaisyer, L. E. Burrell, John Myers, Fran Blomquist, Dale Fenrich and J. M. Bettis. Mayor Leo J. Mason presiding. The following Resolution was presented to the Mayor and Council by Councilman Blomquist, who moved the adoption thereof which motion was seconded by Councilman Fenrich. RESO LUTION I i By Councilman Blomquist. A RESOLUTION AMENDING SECTION 1 OF THE RESOLUTION PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON MARCH 5, 1951, PERTAINING TO THE CITY ELECTION OF THE CITY OF CAIDTP ,L O ^! APRIL 24, 1951, ELIMINATING FRn?J THE ELECTIVE OFFICERS OF SAID CITY THE CLERK ARID TRFASUZER. WHEREAS, the State Legislature of the State of Idaho, by statute duly passed at the present I d X36 session, and signed by the Governor on or about the 6th day of March, 1951, effective immediately, removed as elective officers for cities of second class, the offices of Clen. and Treasurer; and WHEREAS, said offices are now appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Council; now, fore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Caldwel.l, Idaho, that Section 1 oft he Resolution sponsored by Councilman Fenrich passed by the Council on March 5, 1951, approved by the mayor on the same day, pertaining to the municipal election of the City of Caldwell on April 211, 1951, be amended and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 1. That at the regular biennial municipal election to be held in and for the City of Caldwell, Idaho, on the fourth Tuesday in April, 1951, to -witt the 24th day of April, 1951, at which time there will be elected the elective officers of said City, namely, a mayor, one councilman from the first I ward to serve for a term of four years, and one councilman from the second ward to serve for a torn of four years, and one councilman from the third ward to serve for a term of four years, or until the election and qualification of their successors; the following aredesienated as the polling places for such election: FOR THE FITST PARD: The County Court House, between 11th and 12th Avenue, on Albany Street. FOR THE SECOND WARD: The High School Club Rooms, between 11th and 12th Avenues on Everett Street. POR THE TErHD WARD: The City Hall on 7th Avenue at Blair- Street. Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor Upon Roll Call those voting in the affirmative were, Claisyer, Burrell, 4iyers, Blomouist, Fenrich �I and Bettis. Negative, None. Absente nd not voting: Prone. Motion carried. City Clerk. COUNCIL CHAMBERS, APRIL 2nd, 1951, 8:00 P. M. The Regular Monthly Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Rooms of the City Hall, with the Mayor, Leo J. Mason, presiding. Upon Roll Call the following Councilmen answered presents Wm Glaieyer, L. E. Burrell, John >:gers,l Fran Blomquist, Dale Fenrich and J. M. Bettis. The President of the Soft Ball Association was present and discussed with the Mayor and Council I the operation of the concessions at the Soft Ball Field. It was moved by Blomquist, seconded by Were that a Committee from the Soft Ball Association meet with Councilman Burrell, Chairman of the Park Department and work out a plan whereby the Association would have control of all concessions at the Soft Ball Field. Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried. A petition was presented to the Mayor and Council, signed by property owners, petitioning the opening of Willow Street east of Indiana Avenue 500 feet. Moved by Blomquist, seconded by Glaisyer that this petition be granted when the necessary right- of -way deeds were filed with the City. Upon Roll Call it appeared the Motion was unanimously carried. Judge Thomas E. Buckner petitioned the Mayor and Council for the cancellation of Weed Assess,penta levied against Lots 1 - 2, Block 67, Revised Map of the City of Caldwell, filed July 29, 1891, for the years 1927, 1928, 1929 and 1930. This petition was denied by the Council. I I
