OHAMBERS, MARCH 6,
5:00 P. M.
The Regular Monthly meeting of the City Counoil met in the Council Room of the pity
Hall with the Mayor., Fred L. Lilly, presiding.
On Roll Call, the following Councilmen answered present:. )A,. S. Sandmeyer•, A, G.
Keister, 0. E. Bales, Joe Dickens and E. L. Vassar. 0. M. Johnston absent.
The Minutes of February 2nd. amd Feb. 20th, read and approved as read.
C. M. Johnston entered and was marked present.
Austin Heath and Major Hudgins appeared and asked that College Avenue be- graded and
surfaced from Ash Street to Linden Street.
The Mayor assured these gentlemen that this work would be done, provided that
sufficient funds was received from the R. F. 0.
Tom Cole appeared and asked that he might again lease the tract of land, known as
Lake Howard. But as Mr. Cole'a present lease did not expire until May lat. 1933, the
matter was left to the in- coming Council.
The Clerk read an offer from the Caxton printers to furnish Election Supplies. The
said Oaxtoh Printers was to furnish all supplies, other then the ballots, for the sum
of $ 10.00 per Ward with a 15 a', discount, or a total of $ 25.50 for the three Wards.
The Oounoil accepted the above offer and the Clerk wee autho-rized to go ahead and
order said supplies.
The Bills for February were reed and on motion made by Sandmeyer and seconded by
Bales that these Bills be allowed and Warrants be ordered drawn for the various amounts
all of which had been approved by the Chairman of the Finance Committee. Motion Carried.

The Regular Monthly Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Room of the
City Hall with the Hayor, Fred L. Lilly, presiding.
On Roll Call, thefollowing Councilmen answered present: M. S. Sendmeyer, A. G.
Keister, 0. E. Bales, .0. Lt. Johnston, Joe Dickens and Emery Vassar.
The Minutes of .March 6th. reed and approved ns read.
Fred Mobus aopPared and asked that the Alley across Block 66 , Devers Addition and
that the short street between Blocks 66 and 67 , Devers Addition be closed and that these
two Blocks be vacated and the land p,at into acreage.
As this tract of land is awaiting a deed from the County, the matter was postponed
for future action.
L. A. Waterman, accomnanied by his Attorney, S. Ben Dunlap, appeared and asked that
the ilayoe and City Council give to Mr. Waterman a written contract giving to the said Mr.
'.Waterman a clear right_ to certain waters in a certain Drain Ditch in the Caldwell Munici-
pal Airport.
As this oral contract was entered into between Mr. Waterman and a former Council,
the matter was left fo:r a time to enable, Mr. Waterman to get written affidavits from the
members of the former 'Council,
H. E. Blevins Veins' now a candidate for City Treasurer, was thus disqualified to
not as Judge of F,lectibn, and Mrs Ads Merrick having asked to he excused from acting as
Judge of Election, the Mayor and Council appointed Mrs, Josephine Schuler and Rev. Chas,
Moore to act da Judges in their places.
Moved by Vassar and seconded by Dickens that these appointments be approved.
Motion Carried.
George Franklin, S. F. Bow, I. f ?. Waters and P. A. Martin made applioetion for the
renewal of their Pool Hall Licenses, Moved by °andmeyer and seconded by Keister that these
applications be granted. Motion Carried.
The Bills for March were read and on motion made by Bales and seconded by Sandmeyex
that these. Bills be allowed and Warranta be ordered drawn for the various amounts all of
Which had been approved by the Chairman of the Finance Committee. Votion Carried.
