INI-0 IM 0 Council met in regular session with Mayor Dunlap presiding, and Councilmen Davis, Dutton, Hoffman, Jackson, McGonnel and Mumford, present. Minutes of previous meetings read and approved. This being the date set for hearing protests against the proposed creation of Local Improvement District No. 7. The Clerk read nine letters from out of town resident property owners and a petition signed by fourteen residents within the proposed district, protesting againat the creation of said district. The said protests being on file in the Cierk'e office. It was voted on motion of McOonnel, seconded by Hoffman, that the protests read be placed on file. Several sitizens being present and spoke in favor of the proposed improvemen6. A. I.,11yerw ®poke that the improve4iont should be made a general obligation instead of special leyy.against the property within the district. Mrp. A. E. Laughlin and Mrs. R. C. Pasley, representing the Forward Club, was present and asked that the Council confirm the Board of Gontrmle as designated by the Forward Club, governing the Swimming Pool, being as follows; Mrs. A. E. Laughlin, lira. R. 0. Pasley, J. H. Lowell, Fred H. MoConnel, F. D. Mumford and 19. H. Groesbeck. It.was voted on motion of Hoffman, seconded by Davis, that the Board of Controls as above stated be confirmed. A. B. Cooper and F. L. Lilly appeared before the Council asking that the City furnish police protection during the nmght in the 'Vest portion of the town. It was suggested that the Mayor appoint a Night Policeman. It,was voted on motion of Hoffman, seconded by Dutton, that the bills as ap- proved be allowed, and warrants ordered drawn on the various funds to -wit; GENERAL FUND No. Name For What Amount 503 S. The matter of City Library Insurance renewals was referred to Jaoksod and Dutt The application of J. Weil & 00. for Pool Hall lieenae was read. It was voted on motion of Hoffman, seconded by Davis, that license for the quarter ending May 31, 1928 be grated. A letter was read feom Howard Snell proposing to audit the City books for the year ending April 30, 1928. It was voted on motion of Hoffman, seconded by ]Rumford, that Xr. Snell's offer be excepted, and that he be employed to dudit same. A petition was presented signed by nine (9) residents in the vacinity of Cle- veland Boulevard and Third Street, asking that Street Light be installed on Cleveland Boulevard and Third Street. It was voted on motion of Dutton, seconded by Davis, that the City have the street light installed as above mentioned. It was voted on motion of Dutton, seconded by Jackson, that Council adjourn to March 19, 1928. APPROVED- LY • er .
