Shorb elerl., when the following business was transacted= I/ The minutes of the regular and adjourned meetings held in February were read, and motion of Adams, approved, The report of the city treasurer was read and, on motion of Adam approved and ordered filed, The report of the city cicrlr war read andm on motion of Steunenberg, approved and ordered filed. The report of the police fudge was read and, on motion of Adams, approved and ordered filed. The report of the chief of police was read and:, on motion of Adam, approved and ordered filed. The report of the city engineer was read and on motion of Adams approved, and ordered filed. The report of the superintendent of water works was read and on motion of Adam, approved and ordered filed. Meyer in the sum of 122.00 for reporting vital statistics to the state board of health, was,o n motion Steunenberg, referred to the City Attorne The following resolution was introduced by Steunenbergt Whereas, By Us terms or a certain bond in the penal sum of $5,000, dated March 2, 1912, and executed by the Beaver River Power Company, as principal, and the National Surety Company as surety to the City of Caldwell the said The Beaver River Power Company was obligated to commence the construction of an electrical distributiol system in the said City of aldwell on or before September 4, 1912 and to commence to furnish electrical current for use in said city on or before Vanuary 4,.1913; m d Whereas, due and satisfactory progf by affidavit and exauinaticn of the com- pliance by said The Beaver River Power C with the terms of said bond has been made; Now, Therefore, Be it resolved, by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Caldwell, that the condition of said bond has been fully complied with and that the said The Beaver River Power Company as principal and the National Surety Company as I 7 ^1 I r I I surety be and are hereby released and fully discharged from all liability under said bond. I L Voted, on motion of Adamf, that the resolution be adopted. / Letter of enquiry from II. S. engineer's office about the city's road roller was read and, on motion of Adam, referred to the street committee. Acceptance by the Oregon Short Line Railway Co. of the provisions of Ordinance No. - 229 as amended by Ordinance No. JL30, granting them the use of a certain alley for a switch track, was read. Letter of R. Farrar complaining of the readings of his water meter togehter with the claims of 0. V. Badley and W. M. Cupp for rebates on water were, on motion of Steunenberg, referred to tl.e water committee. Voted, on motion of Steunenberg, that in tce matter of a proposed change of a ditch from the alley between Blaine and Cleveland streets between 4th and 10th Avenue to Cleveland street, that the s�rre he roferred to the street committee with power to act. Complaint of vr. Lilly that autos were not permitted to use the grade back of the new puma house to cet up on Canyon Hi]] was heard, and the same was referred to the street corm issioner to see wltat co be done towards widening the grade. Voted, on motion of Steunenberg, that the matter of placing a fire plug on Canyon Hill be referred to the fire committee. / Voted, on motion of Harrington, that the council adjourn until Saturday, March 15, 1913, at 7930 o'clock P.M.
