Council met in regular session with Mayor Ward presiding; the following councilmen were present; Dickens, Dunlap, Fouling Hayman Moore and Sutton. This being the time set for hearing protests to the orginazation of Sewer Die. No I. the City Clerk presented the Affidavit of publication of the Caldwell News of the publication of said ordinance of intention and the Mayor thereupon stated thgt protests would be heard at this time. There was no protests from residents of the proposed district but a numerously signed protest was presented from the residents of Ward No 3 protesting against the establishment of the sewer and particulartly against dumping same intoothe Government Drain Ditch. _ Moved by Dunlap seconded by Fouling that it is the sense of the city council that the city council take under further advisement the protest to organisation of said district which is now on file and that the Mayor and- a #tg- •exae #1 of said city be authorised to direct the city Engineer to make further investigations of the disposal works for said sewer district. the vote on the motion was as follows; Dickens, Dunlap, Fouling, Hayman Moore and Sutton. A petition from Oakes, Walters at al for the narrowing of Dearborn afreet and the paving of same was.presented and on motion Dunlap seconded by Sutton same was taken under advisement. A petition from residents of Golden Gate was presented asking for the extension of the Water mains and Street Lights was presented and on motion Sutton seconded by Feeling a committee was appointed to investigate the Mayor appointed Feeling and Dickens. . A Greaulund asked for the vacation of the alley and plat of Block No 90 Mountain View Addition and on motion Sutton seoonded by Dunlap the-City Attorney was instructed to draft resolution vacating same. On motion Hayman seconded by Moore all bide on City Barn were rejectd On motion Hayman seconded by Dickens the council proceed to consider the two bide presented at this time. C E Silbaugh and Coe bid was for $8386.15 J F Bales bid was for 7500.00 Motion made by Dunlap seconded by Dickens that the bide be referred t8 the building committee to report next Wednesday night. The minutes of last meeting was read and'on motion Sutton seconded by Fouling same were approved as read.
