Negative: None, Absent and not voting: Cleveland and Bettis. The Mayor I declared the motion had passed by the necessary three- _ourths majority and directed the Clerk to read Bill No 20, the second time by title and the third time in full section by section. The Clerk read the Bill as directed, The question being Shall Bill No. 20 pass?" The Mayor directed the Clerk to call the roll II on the above question which resulted as follows: Those voting in the affirmative were: Blomquist, Burrell, Eldredge and Shorb. Negative: None, Absent and not voting: Cleveland and Bettis. There the Mayor declared Bill No. 20, had passed and the Mayor in open session of the Council 'duly signed and approved the Bill, and the Clerk duly signed and a ttested the same which became Ordinance :No. 901. The Mayor directed the Clerk to make proper entry of the same and to cause Ordinance No. 901, to be, published in the News - Tribune the offi<dal newspaper of the City of Caldwell, Idaho. The Mayor brought pup the matter of an increase in compensation for Judges, Clerks and Constables of Election. This matter was discussed. Moved by Burrell, seconded by Blomquist the City Attorney be instructed to pro.pare the necessary '`papers to amend Ordinance No. 466, to conform with State Election Laws, regarding compensation for Election j • lBoards. i Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion vras unanimously carried. There being no further business to come before the Council it was moved by Councilman Shorb, j i seconded by Councilman Eldredge that Council adjourn. Motion carried. I Mayor. Clerk. M. on the 28th day of February' 11957, for the transaction of all business in connection with the following object: Receiving of bids on Local ' (Improvement District # 38, which object was presented to each of the undersigned in writing,. Moved by Eldredge, seconded by Blomquist that the bid be rejected and another call for bids be - published,V Upcn Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried. The following letter was read and ordered spread on the Minutes: February 27, 1957 Honorable Mayor and Council City of Caldwell. Idaho. I� M. C. Roberts and C Hixson, local plumbers, have qualified as Journeyman I` gas Fitters in examination by the Bcise City Examining Board on February 12, thus qualifying themselves to serve on the Gas Fitter Examining Board for the City of Caldwell. Appointment of these men and V. Jay Martin, of Heating Equipment Company as ar. ,I examining board will enable the prompt precessing of applications for Jouryman Gas h Fitters examinations already on file., ' /s/ Don Baird Building I{ispector Thereupon the Mayor announced the following appointments to the Gas Fitter Examining Board: M. C. Roberts Carl Hixson V: Jay Martin Moved by Blomquist, seconded by Bettis that these appointments be confirmed. Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried. The following letter was read from the Chief of Police: Honorable Mayor and City Council I Caldwell i Idaho Gentlemen: . Re: Marion Sviter, Applicant for Beer License. After a character investigation of the above -named individual, there appears to be no lawful reason why subject should not be granted a beer license. Yours very truly, Keith Judd Chief of Police. It was recommended by the the City Attorney that the Beer License issued to Milliner's Inn be "cancelled as the property has been closed since January. Moved by Burrell, seconded by Burrellthe 1957 Beer License issued to Milliner's Inn be cancelled I land the fee refunded. Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried. - l Changing the counter in the office building was discussed. to This wzs referred /the City Engineer and Office Managers ' i Parking in front of the Office Building was discussed. I The Chief of Police was instructed to restrict parking to ten minutes. i There being no further business to come before the Council, it was moved by Councilman Shorb, `seconded by Councilman Bettis that Council adjourn.
