CALL AND ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF NOTICE
We, the undersigned Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, do each
'hereby acknowledge notice of a special meeting of said City Council to be held at the Council Chambers, in
, .the City Hall in the City of Cald ell, Idaho at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P. M. on the 18th day of February,
1957, for the transaction of all business in connection with the following object: Hearing protests to the y

Upon Roll Call the following Oouncilmen answered present: Fran Blomquist, L. E, Burrell, Emile
Shorb, and L. P. Eldredge. Absent: Goo Cleveland and J. M. Bettis.
The Mayor announced this was the time set by Ordinance to hear protests to the proposed vacation

of a portion of Blomquist Avenue.
There were no protests filed. 11
Thereupon Councilman Blomquist introduced Bill No 19, entitled: i
AN ORDINANCE RECITING THE PASSAGE, APPROVAL AND PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE NO. 896; DETERMINING THAT
NO OBJECTI'?NS HAVE BT'EN MADE AND FILED TO THE VACATION OF BLOMQUIST AVENUE FROfd ITS INTERSECTION WITH 'VANS
STREET TO ITS INTERSECTION PfITH CROOKHAM STREET AS PLATTED BE714EEN LOTS 2 AND 3 OF THE INDUSTRIAL SITE
ADDITION TO THE CITY OF CALD'ELL, IDAF'; DETE FINING THAT THE VACATION OF SAID AVENUE IS TO THE BEST INTEREST''
AND ADVANTAGE OF THE CITY OF CALIWELL, ITS CITIZENS AND PROPERTY OWNERS; DETERMINING THAT NO DAMAGE 1SILL BE

which was read for the first time and the Council proceeded to a consideration of Bill No. 19. It was jl
'moved by Councilman Blomquist, seconded by Councilman Burrell that the rules requiring that the reading of a
1Bill on three separate days 1 �e suspended and that Bill No. 19, be read the second time by title and the
' third time in full section by section and placed on the final passage. The Mayor directed the Clerk to call
the roll on the above motion with the following result: Those voting in the affirmative we --e: Blomquist,
'Burrell, Shorb and Eldredge. Negative: None. Absent and not voting: Cleveland and Bettis. The Mayor
declared the the motion had passed by the necessary three - fourths majority and directed the Clerk to read Bill

Thereupon the Mayor declared Bill No 19, had passed and the - Mayor in open session of the Council

The Mayor brought up the matter of an increase in compensation for Judges, Clerks and Constables of
( Election.

This matter was discussed.
Moved by Burrell, seconded Blom uist the City Attorn be instructed to

' to amend Ordinance No. 1166, to conform with State Election Laws, regarding compensation for Election
Boards.
Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion 'rras unanimously carried.
There being no further business to come before the Council it was moved by Councilman Shorb,
l secended by Councilman Eldredge that Council adjourn. Motion carried.
