Council Chamber, City of Caldwell, Idaho, February 8th., 1915.

Council meet in special session pursuant to a call issued by Mayor C. H. Turner.
Present, Mayor C. H. Turner presiding, Councilmen Ackley, Boone, Harrington and
Stsunenberg, S. Ben Aunlap,Clark.
The call for the meeting was read as followat
CALL FOR MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL.
To the members of the City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho:
You are hereby notified that pursuant to the power in me vested, I hereby call a
meeting of your honorable body to to held at the City Hall in Caldwell, Idaho, on
February 8th., 1915 at 7:30 o'clock P. M. for the purpose of considering ways and
means for the disposition of the City's garbago.
Dated at Caldwell, Idaho, this eighth day of February, 1915.

Mr. William F. Hustead appeared and stated that he would like to enter into a
contract with the City of Caldwell for the purpose of obtaining exclusive right to haul
garbage from the City limits. He stated that in consideration for such a right he would
promptly dispose of all garbage and rubbish, and would act under direction of the Street
Commissioner.
It was voted upon motion of Farrington that the Mayor be autborized to enter into
a contract with Mr. Hustead for disposal of City garbage under direction of the
Superintendent of Streets, and that Mr. Hustead be given the exclusive privilege to
haul garbage within the City limits.
Councilman Parker arrived at this time.
Mr. Charles A. Oaken appeared in behalf of the Chineese gardeners and requested
that the City gravel Belmont Street from the Interurban tract to the Roswell ditch.
Mr. Oakes stated that the ohineese were willing to donate the use of teams and drivers
and that the estimated expense to the City for this work would be $25.00.
It was voted upon motion of Harrington that the matter be referred to the Street
Commissioner with power to act,
The Street Commissioner stated that the City was in need of a new grader, the
present machine being badly worn and also too light for use with the tractor.
Mr. Ireland, representing the Austin 01"torn Road Machinery Company appeared and
stated that if the Council would authorize the Street Commissioner to sign a trial
order he would ship in and demonstrate a grader, and if same were satisfactory in every
way to each member of the Council the price would be $450.00 divided into three annual
payments, deferred payments to draw interest at 7 percent after October 1, 1915.
Councilman Harrington suggested that the matter of purchasing a new grader be laid
over until after the City election an in his opinion the incoming administration should
take up a matter of this kind.
The matter war- laid over until the next regular meeting.

It was voted upon motion of Ackley that Council adjorn until Monday March let.,
1915 at 7:30 o'clock P. M.

S. Ben Dunlap, Clerk, when the following business was transacted:

CALL FOR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL.
To the members of the City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho:
You are hereby notified that, pursuant to the power in me vested, I have called
a meeting of your honorable body to be held in the Council Chambers at the City Hall on
February 10th., 1915, at 7:30 o'clock P. M. for the purpose of considering the matter
of taking the prupur precautions against the spread of rabies and hydrophobia, said to
prevail in neighboring territory.

Bill No, 21, by Adams, entitled, "An ordinance requiring the muzzling of all dogs
within the City of Caldwell, and providing a penalty for the violation thereof," was
read for the first time.
A motion was made by Adams that the rules be suspended and that the reading on
three separate days be dispensed with and that Bill Nu. 21 be read the second time by
title and the third time in full and placed on its final passage. The roll being called
on the motion the vote resulted:
Ayes- Ackley, Aiams, Boone, Parker and Steunenberg -5
Nayee -None
Absent- Harrington -1. So the motion prevailed.
Bill No. 21 read the secund tine by title.
Bill No. 21 read the third time in full and placed on ita final passage. On the
question shall bill No. 21 pass? The roll being called the vote resulted:
Ayes - Ackley, Adams, Boone, Parker and Steunenbarg -5
Nayee -None
Absent- Harringtun -1. So bill No. 21 passed becoming ordinance No. 251.
It was voted upon motion of Ackley that Council adjorn until Monday March lat.,
1915, at 7:30 o'clock P. M.
