The Mayor requested the Council to inspect the Boise and Nampa sewage disposal plants.
The following petition signed by property owners was presented to the Mayor and Council:
We, the undersigned owners, are negotiating the sale o£ :our properties to Safeway Stores and in
order to consummate this sale it is necessary that the City of Caldwell vacate the alley running through our

We therefore ask the City Council that should this sale be consummated if the Uouncil of the City
of Caldwell vo uld be in favor of the passage of an ordinance signifying the City's intention to vacate the
alley and in the event no persons are damaged by the vacating of the same to follow the proper steps to
order its closure.
The Mayor and Council approved the vacation of the above mentioned alley, provided, the lot is
sold to Safeway Stores.

The follow&ng letter was read from Vance Pollett:
City Council
City of 'Caldwell
Gentlemen:
January 10, 1955
This is a request that the Council grant either:
A -An Easement to the Idaho Power Company along the east side of the 25 foot strip
indicated on the enclosed man (Property is adjacent to Carnron Bill Cemetery.)
B-- That the Ccu-cil deed the county this 25 foot strip in order that the eeupty may
extend Cemetery road'., or grant an easement to the Power Company to put their pole,; in 'to
give service to a house being built on the area indicated "tract 1 11 .
I wish to point out that the map is not of a platted subdivision, but is ohly a
tentative sketch. It may be platted in the sprint,. The Power company does not wish to
put its poles on the west side of the indicated road as it would mean that the property
of "tract 1" would be encumbered with a maze of guy - wires.
We would appreciate early action upon this matter by the council as the power company
is ready to install poles almost immediately as the house on "tract l" is nesiing completion
-Would you please return this sketch as it is the only one we have.
