COUNCIL CHAMBERS, FEBRUARY 6 1933.
9 :00 P. M.
The Regular Mdnthly Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Room of the
City Hall in Caldwell, Idaho, with the Mayor, Fred L. Lilly, presiding.
On Roll Call, the following Cauncilmen answered present: M. S. Sandmeyer, A. 0.
Keister, 0. E. Bales, 0. M. Johnston, Joe Dickens and E. L. Vassar.
The Minutes of January 2nd. were read and approved as read.
Wm. Talley and Walter Griffiths appeared and kook up the matter of amending the
Zoning Ordinance to allow Undertaking Parlors to be located in the residential district.
The matter was taken under advisement.
The Bills for January were read and on motion made by Sandmeyer and seconded by
Hales that these Bills be allowed and Warrants be ordered drawn for the various amounts
all of which had been approved by the Chairman of the Finance Committee. Motion Carried.

B. E. Parinenter, the City Treasurer, appeared and stated that The City of Caldwell,
Idaho, held Warrant No. 279, dVewn on the Local Improvement Diatrlst No. 11 for $ 4 , 9 59- 5 5,
June
dated $Ayjg 2, 1930 and drawn in favor of Gabby & McNeal, on which there' is' accrued
interest amounting to $ 910,93, making a total due to February 6,.1933 of 5a770.75.-
The Treasurer also stated that this was the only Warrant now outstanding on Local,Imp-
rovement District No. 11, and he further stated that there was the amount of $ 4,004 -41
now in Local Improvement District No. 11.
It was moved by Vassar and seconded by Dickens that Warrant No. 279,,drawn on Local
Improvement Di6,triot No. 11 for $ 4,559,55, dated June 2, 1930, be canoelled by the City
Treasurer and that Warrant No. 279A be issued for the sum of $ 4,604.41 and Warrants No.
2 798, 2 790, 2 79D and 279E be issued for the sum of $ 400.00 each and that Warrant No.
279? be issued for the sum of $ 166.37. All these to be issued in lieu of Warrant No. 27).
cancelled as of this date. And further that all these Warrants are to be drawn on Local
I Digtriot No. 11 in favor of The Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund and all dated
as of February.6, 1933. And still further that Warrants No. 2798, 2 790, 279D, 279E and
11 79F be exchanged for Warrants drawn on the Guaranty Fund No. 1 of the same date.
On Roll Call, the following Councilmen voted in favor of the above motion: Sandmeye ,
Keister, Bales; Johnston, Dickens and Vassar. Those opposed, None. Absent and not voting
acne. Thereupoft, the Mayor declared the motion carried.
A letter was read from H. E. Haworth, Cashier of the First National Bank Of- Caldwe 1,
for 2,966.00
Idaho, asking that Warrant No 1575 drawn on Local Improvement District No. 7 and dated
January 7, 1930, be oaneellad and in lieu thereof that Warrant No. 1575A be issued for
1,405.00, and that Warrants No. 1 575B, 1 5750, and 1575D be issued for $ 400-.00 each an
that Warren# NO. 1575E be issued for $ 375,00 . all these Warrants to be drawn on Local
Improvement D19triet No. 7, issued in favor of the Road Fund and dated as of January 7, L930
Moved by Bales and seoonded by Johnston that the above request be granted and that
the City Treasurer be authorised to cancel Warrant No. 1575 and issue Warrants No. 1 575A
15758, 1 5750, 1 575D and 1575E as requested above.
On Roll Call, the following Councilmen voted in favor of the above motion; Sandmeye ,
Keister, Bales; Johnston, Dickens and Vassar. Opposed, None. Absent and not voting, None
Thereupon, the declared the above motion carried.
Moved by Vassar and seconded by Dickens that the Mayor be empowered to obtain a
Rightaof -way from Fred Mobus and Canyon County through Blooks 66 and 67 for the purpose
of extending the Highway that now connecta at the juncture of Kimball Avenue and Joliet
D
Street straight on South to 4th. Street. Motion Carried.
Moved by Vassar and second d by Keister that the Mayor, together with the Road Com-
mittee be authorized to secure Right -of -way for a Stook Trail through the West part of
the City a short distance West of Aven Street and North across the Oregon Short Line Rai
Road Company's Right -of -way. Motion Carried
Moved by Vassar and seconded by Dickens that this Council stand adjourned on call
of the Mayor. Motion Carried.
