Council met in regular session with Mayor Dunlap presiding, and'the following Councilm present; DAVIS, DUTTON, HOFFMAN, JACKSON, MCCONNEL AND MWORD. Amos J. Miller representing the Chamber of Commerce, appeared before the Council asking that the City secure a right -of -way from Painter Avenue to the Air Port tract of land. The matter was referred to the Air Port Committee. The Mayor appointed Dutton, McConnel and Mumford as Airport Committee. 3. Madden presented a petition Busineas Men and Property Owners, making that the City include in its first street improvement progam by graveling and oiling Aven Street from Third to Main Streets , blest to the limits; and Fifth Atreet from the railroad right -of -way, north to the State Highway. It was voted on motion of Jackson, seconded by Hoffman, that the petition be placed on file•and that the same be given due consideration. It was moved, seconded and carried, that the improvement of Aven Avenue and Fifth Street be referred to the Improvement Committee and City Engineer. A number of Citizens and Businessmen appeared before the Council a0d spoke at some length-as fgvoring the improvement of the above mentioned streets and pointing out its advantages to Caldwell. R. T. McConaughey presented a petition signed by Nenateen Barbera of the City asking the Council to pass an Ordinance requiring all Barber Shops their places of business eaeb week day except Saturday at 6:00 P. M., and on Saturday at 10:00 P. M. It was voted on motion of MaGonnel, seconded by Mumford, that the petition be placed on file and have due consideration. Frank E. Meek appeared before the Council asking that a street light be placed on the street in front of the Cavalry Barn. The matter was referred to the Park Com- mittee with power to act. NAYES: NONE. whereupon the Mayor declarid that Bill No. 12 had passed and now be8ome Ordinance No. 448, duly signed and approved same in open session of the Ocuncil, and di- rected the Clerk to make proper entry and have same published in the Caldwell Tribune the offioial newspaper for the City of Caldwell, Canyon County, Idaho. �/O
