The matter of repairing sidewalks was taken up by the Mayor a nd Council nand the
Mayor appointed the Road Committee to investigate.
Thereupon the following R"solution was ppesented to the Mayor and Council by
Councilman Handford, who moved the adoption thereof, which motion was duly seconded by
Councilman McD1nnel.
R$`SOLUTION
Ay Handford.
WHEFEAS, the City of Caldwell purchases a lar�_e quantit. of gasoline monthly,
and whereas the purchase of said gasoline by said City has never beeq t�y tid, and whereas,
it is celleved that a substantial saving can be made if said gasoline is purch� wed by bid,
NOW, TFEREFOT'.E, BE IT RESOLBED That the said City of Oaldwell, by and through
its City Clerk, call for sealed bids for the purchase of fifteen thousand,(15,000) gallons
of first structure 70- Octaine leaded gasoline of the standard and quality as provided
by Section 36-1606, I.C.A.,delivery to begin March let., 1940, that the said bids will :be
received a t the offices of the City Clerk until Monday, the 19th of February, 1940, at
the hour of 8 o that the said bid be published once in the Caldwell News- Tribune
at least five (5) days prior to the day called for the opening of said bids.
A Yea and Nay vote was had thereon with the following result.
Yea Sandmeyer, Handford, Fenrioh, Babcock, Stengel and McD
Nay; None.
Absent and not voting; None.
Thereupon the M declared the motion duly carried and the preamble and
resolution adopted.
Application for Pool H Licenses were read from I. H. Ws tens, and S.F.Bow,
the fee accompanying each application.
Application for Card Room Licenses werer•ead from I.H. Waters, S.F.Bow, P
Lunch and Rummy Eouse, the fee accompanying each application.
Moved by Sandmeyer, seconded by Handford that these Licenses be granted. Motion
carried.
There being no further business toeomebafore the Council it was moved by Stengel
seconded by MCDannel that Council adjourn. Motion carried.
