to the said Commissioner of Public Works of the State of Idaho, and to retain the other
as a part of the records of his office."
This action was seconded by Councilman Montgomery. A yea and nay vote on the
adoption of such resolution was thereupon called for and taken, with the following result:
Yeas: Oakes, Boynton, Bales, Fenrich, Hollingsworth bad Montgomery.
Nays: None.
Absent and not voting: None.
More than a majority of the whole number of members elected to the Council havin
voted yea, Mayor Vassar declared the motion carried, and the resolution adopted.
A Petition was presented to the Council by M. D. Riner and J. M. Rankin asking
that a sewer be laid from Ash to Oak easterly to Wisconsin and Michigan. The Council
decided if the Petitioners would quarantee material cost of $300 and tender the cash to
the amount of $300 or satisfactorily quarantee the same that the Mayor could proceed by
using C. X. A. labor to complete the project at once.
The City Attorney was asked to confer with 0. S. L. officials upom the matter
of paving the railroad crossing on 9th street.
There being no further fusiness to come before the meeting, it was, on motion
duly seconded and carried declared adjourned.

The Regular Monthly Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Room of the
City Hall, with the Mayor, Emery L. Vassar presiding.
on Roll Call, the following Councilmen answered present: Edgar L. Oakes, W. S.
Boynton, C. R. Bales, G. M. Fenrich, G. W. Montgomery, Absent: W. R. Hollingsworth.

A letter was read by the City Clerk from C. 0. Sisson regarding the last payment
on the Canyon Hill Tract.
Motion by Montgomery and seconded by Boynton that the City clerk be authorized
to issue a warrant to cover this payment.
On Roll Call the following Councilmen voted in favor of the Motion, Oakes,
Boynton., Bales, Montgomery, and Fenrich. Those opposed , none. Absent and -not voting
W. R. Hollingsworth. Motion carried.

Louis Shell appeared before the City Council and asked to rent Block 89 Mountain
View Addition. Motion by Bales seconded by Montgomery that the Mayor appoint a. committee
of two to act. Motion carried. Bales and Oakes were appointed to act on this matter.
The Clerk read the report of the Dairy License Committee. Mr. J. L. Isenberg
appeared before the Council and asked that the Dairy Licenses be the same for all Milk
,ietailers.
Motion by Boynton and seconded by Fenrich that the Dairy Ordinance. should not be
mended. Motion carried.
The C1crk read a list of uncollectable bills and asked that they be charged
ff the water book.
Notion by Montgomery and seconded by Bales that the City Clerk be authorizedtto
barge ihese.bills off the water book. Motion carried.
Mr. Beatty appeared before the Council and stated that the meters had been ia-
talled at the College. The Mayor appointed the Water Committee to check these meters.

The Mayor and City Council ordered all city bills have a purchase voucher attacha
Permission was eked by F. M. Wilson to operate a Card Club Room. The Council
decided to investigate before granting this request.
Chief of Police 0. 0. Boyd appeared before the City , Counoil and asked that the
City pay half the cost of the new police suits. The Council left it• the Mayor to act.
Affidavit of Publication of Ordinance No. 512 was read by the City'Clerk. The
Council requested a few changes be made before accepting. y
The Bills'for January were read and on motion by Montgomery, seconded by Boynton
that these bills be allowed and - Warrants be ordered drawn for the various amounts all of
which had been approved by the Chairman of the Finance Committee. Motion carried.

A Call Meeting of the City Council met in the Assembly Room of the City Hall,
with the 'Mayor, Emery L. Vassar presiding.
On Roll Call the following Councilmen were present: E. L. Oakes, W. S. Boynton
C. E. Bales, G. W. Montgomery, G. M. Fenrioh and W. R. Hollingsworth. Absent: None.
The Mayor announced that this was the time for the consideration of protests for
and against amending the Dairy Ordinance.
The City Attorney read the Dairy Ordinance and the the Mayor asked if anyone
present had anything to say. A number of people in the audience discussed the matter both
for and against the proposed amendment.
Motion by Ross Colvard seconded by W. P. Jones that the Dairy Ordinance should
mot be amended. Motion carried.
The Council thereupon adjourned to the Council Room.
The Clerk read a letter from the Pioneer Irrigation District asking for a new
contract.' The matter was left with the i"llyor to investigate.
The Mayor requested that the parking lines on the streets be repainted.
'The Retail Merchants association asked that the parking be changed to parallel
on So. Kimball.
'The City Eng]neer delivered a message from Mr. John Smsed stating if drive ways
could be made on his property on the corner of Kimball and Dearborn the city could use

same for public parking.
