NOW THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk, be authorized, on behalf of the City of Caldwell to execute a lease with the Oregon ShortLine Railway Company for an off street parking site• j Upon Roll Call those voting in the affirmative were. Vassae, Blomquist, Luby, Shorb and Finley. � Negative: None. Absent and not voting: Eldredge. Them-on the Mayor declared the motion carried and the Resolution adopted. There being no further business to come before the Counci it was moved by Councilman Shorb, i j seconded by Councilman Vassar that Council adjourn. Motion carried• Mayor. City Clerk. COUNCIL CHAMBERS FilRUARY 3, 195 8:00 P. M. The Regular Monthly Meeting of the City Council met in the Council Room of the City Hall, with the Mayor, Ed Simmerman presiding. The Mayor informed the Council this was the time set by notice for the Mayor and Council to meet j as a Board of Correction to review and correct assessments of the Caldwell Municipal Irrigation System. for There was no one present or against. This was discussed by the Mayor and Oouncil. Thereupon the following Resolution was presented by Councilman Blomquist, who moved the adoption li thereof,.rhich wh3c-kr motion was duly seconded by Councilman Shorb. RESOLUTION BY COBNCILM&N BLOMQ 1I5T. BE IT RESOLVED, By the Mayor and Couimcil of Caldwell, Idaho, as follows: Section 1. THAT, WHERFAS, PER. CLYDE EAGAN has petitioned the Council for permission to install irrigation tile along the right -of -way of that certain street known as West Belmont Street, and, { ' it WH.'REAS, said request seems reasonable and proper; NOW, T11.3REOFE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to grant unto said CLYDE EA.1AN permission to install irrigation tile along the right -of -way of West Belmont Street between ICI Boise Avenue am Riverside Canal, upon said construction being satisfactory to the City Engineer. Upon Roll Call those voting in the affirmative were: Vassar, Blomquist, Luby, Shorb, Eldredge and Finley. Negative: None. Absent and not voting: None. Thereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried and the Resolutionadopted. TP:e Mayor informed the Council this was the time set by notice for receiving and opening bids = for sale of Bonds of Local Improvement Districts Numbers 39 -41 -42 -113. No valid bids were received by the Council. The follo letter was read from the City Treasurer: III 14AYOR & COUNCIL: I have individual buyers for the bonds as advertised totaling $30,500.00. This will leave a balance of $44,811.46 for the Cemetery Fund to purchase and I have sufficient funds in the Perpetual. Care Fund to cover this purchase. This was discussed by the Mayor and Oouncil. RESOLUTION BY COBNCILM&N BLOMQ 1I5T. BE IT RESOLVED, By the Mayor and Couimcil of Caldwell, Idaho, as follows: Section 1. THAT, WHERFAS, PER. CLYDE EAGAN has petitioned the Council for permission to install irrigation tile along the right -of -way of that certain street known as West Belmont Street, and, { ' it WH.'REAS, said request seems reasonable and proper; NOW, T11.3REOFE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to grant unto said CLYDE EA.1AN permission to install irrigation tile along the right -of -way of West Belmont Street between ICI Boise Avenue am Riverside Canal, upon said construction being satisfactory to the City Engineer. Upon Roll Call those voting in the affirmative were: Vassar, Blomquist, Luby, Shorb, Eldredge and Finley. Negative: None. Absent and not voting: None. Thereupon the Mayor declared the motion carried and the Resolutionadopted. TP:e Mayor informed the Council this was the time set by notice for receiving and opening bids = for sale of Bonds of Local Improvement Districts Numbers 39 -41 -42 -113. No valid bids were received by the Council. The follo letter was read from the City Treasurer: III 14AYOR & COUNCIL: I have individual buyers for the bonds as advertised totaling $30,500.00. This will leave a balance of $44,811.46 for the Cemetery Fund to purchase and I have sufficient funds in the Perpetual. Care Fund to cover this purchase. Application for vacating a portion of Sixth Avenue between the Northeasterly boundary line of Kearn ;!Street and the Southwesterly boundary line of Lewiston Street was presented to the Mayor and Council by i _Harvey F. Metzker, Velma L. Metzker, Irma C. Tallman and Orville H. Tallman. Mayor Simmerman and City Engineer were instr.,eted to check this andreport back to Council. The City Attorney was instructed to prepare an Ordinance establishing a Sanitary Service System , ;and present to the Council at the regular Council Meeting in March. The Building Inspector recommended Ordinance #701,(Regulating Liquified Gas),be amended to include Natural Gas conversion. The City Attorney was instructed to prepare a tentative ordinance and present to Council for con- sideration. The City Attorney was instructed to prepare an Ordinance governing Trailer Courts and Trailer .for Council consideration. Moved by Vassar, seconded by Eldredge claims against Local Improvement Districts No. 39,hl,h2 and 13 be allowed and the City Clerk be instructed to hold warrants until the money for sale of bonds has been received. Upon Roll Call it appeared the motion was unanimously carried.
