The Council met pursuant to call and acknowledgment of notice in the following form: CALL AND ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF NOTICE Re, the undersigned Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Caldwell, Idaho, do each hereby acknowledge notice of a special meeting of said City Council to be held at the Council Chambers in the City Hall in the City of Caldwell, Idaho, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P. M. on the 31st day of January, 1955 for the transaction of all business in connection with the following object: Report on Engineering Survey of Sewage Collection and Treatment, which object was submitted to each of the undersigned in writing. Smith presiding* Upon Roll Call the fallowing Councilmen answered present: Fran BlDmquist, L. E. Burrell, Adolph Eggers, Ernest Weick and L. P. Eldredge. Absent: J. M. Bettis. Jerry Johnson of Nampa was present and stated he wished to lease city owned property located at Kimball Avenue and Freeport Street for a Root Beer Drive In. This matter was referred to the City Attorney. Earl Reynolds and Don Floyd representing the engineering firm of Cornell, Howell, Hayes and Mersg— field presented their report on an engineering stucjy of sewage - collection and treatment for Caldwell which was authorized by the Mayor and Council September 14th, 1953. The report was summarized as follows: Part 1. Existing Sewage Collection System Part 2. Sewage Treatment Facilities. Part 3. Financial Analysis. Part 4. Conclusions and Recommendations. An Appendix of Detailed Charts. The report was examined by the Mayor and Council and ordered placed on file in the office of the City Clerk. The Mayor stated the citizens of Caldwell would have to vote in favor of a bond issue before action Li be taken on a Sewage Disposal Plant. Y 9(a �I �/�� l . -i., City Clerk. The Mayor requested the Council to inspect the Boise and Nampa sewage disposal plants. The following petition signed by property owners was presented to the Mayor and Council: We, the undersigned ovmers, are negotiating the sale of :our properti®e to Safeway Stores and in order to consummate this sale it is necessary that the City of Caldwell vacate the alley running through our properties which comprose Block 32 of Caldwell, Idaho, according to the Revised Plop thereof filed July 29, 1891 at 3:00 o'clock p. m and now of record in Book 1 of Plats, page 20 records of Canyon County, Idaho. We therefore ask the City Council that should this sale be consummated if the Council of the City of Caldwell vauld be in favor of the passage of an ordinance signifying the City's intention to vacate the alley and in the event no persons are damaged by the vacating of the same to follow the proper steps to order its closure. The Mayor and Council anproved the vacation of the above mentioned alley,provided, the lot is sold to Safeway Stores. There being no further business to come before the Council, it was moved by Councilman Burrell, seconded by Councilman Eggers that Council adjourn Motion carried COUNCIL CHATIBERS FEBRUARY 7th, 1,55 8:00 P.
